The interview was fine. It went well, but with no result. The appointment was scheduled at 7:50 am. My husband arrived at the Guangzhou Consulate at 7:15 am. There were already over 50 people ahead of him in the line. The door opened at 7:30 am. All people can not bring in any electronics, including phone, USB drive, smartwatch, etc. So he checked in his backpack, only had the pile of paperwork documents in hands. He turned in the required documents (only the ones asked, they did not accept any extra documents or files) at one window. He was number 3 at window #18. The first two interviews at the window 18 were quick, one was a father visiting son in US, he needed extra information, the other was a young wife going to meet husband in US, visa approved. My husband was the third one. The visa officer was a white woman, pretty nice, her Chinese was not so good, but there was a young Chinese girl as translator besides her. My husband was first asked to swear that everything he said was tru... read complete review

It was just kinda awkward that the waiting area is so close to the interview area. People were sitting just 3 meters away from the interview counter 😂 they can literally hear everything about you.
Everything else is good

Arrived early at 7am(1 hour prior to the interview); she was the first appointment of the day. Gate opens at 7:30 and they let you into the grounds. Then you line up and they check your passport and your interview appointment letter. They let you into the consulate in groups. Next you go through a security checkpoint and can store your items you don't need for the interview.
There are two checkpoints. They give you a ticket with a number. My wife waited 5 minutes for the 1st checkpoint after security check.
1 Checkpoint (Opens at 8am)
A consular officer asks for interview appointment letter, passport, photo, 3 notarized documents and keep those original documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, no criminal record certificate).Questions:
Have you ever stayed anywhere outside of China for over a year? Have you ever lived in the USA, Hong Kong, Taiwain?
Is this your first marriage?
Have you ever been divorced?

Everything went smoothly. 8:30 security check was completed and by 9:30 i was out of the consulate. The VO is very nice. The questions are
1. who applied for you
2. what is the husband's job?
3. you work now? Worked before?
4. Have you ever been to the US? When was the last time you went?
5. Have you ever been divorced?
6. How did you and your husband meet?
7. Looked at the photos. Selected one and asked me who they were.
Any other paperwork did not look.
Today the visa status is administrative processing. i think it will be issued soon
