Comparing our experience to that of what we've been through applying for two unsuccessful tourist visas in Chengdu, we give the new Consulate in Guangzhou two thumbs way, way up. The staff is friendly and patient. The lines outside the consulate are well-organized before the doors ever open on interview mornings; line-jumping is also kept to an absolute minimum (somehow!), which for those of you in China will find very comforting.
The VO who interviewed my wife was very nice and treated my wife with the respect she needed to feel confident during the interview -- something seriously lacking at the Chengdu consulate. The process was a very smooth one for us. And for anyone else applying for immigration in Guangzhou, we urge you to relax and stay positive. It felt to us like everyone in the building was there to help.

After 7years of my previous visa denials In American embassy Nigeria. I never knew I will ever step that interview room anymore. My story, I had wanted to study in America in 2001 and applied for f1 student visa then. I got denied under section 214, applied the second time, got denied. Applied the third time after 1year, got denied again. Waited for like 2yrs or so. Applied again they denied it under same section 214. I decided to relax and then look for other universities in a diff country. Just after one yr I got denied, I wanted to book a new appointment .because my father really wanted me to study in the united states. As it was, after getting a new I-20. A mail came from Kentucky n it was visa lottery package. I won!!! After all the arrangements, I got my interview scheduled for 2006 November. Was really happy, there it goes again with the CO. I did a course in electrical wiring for 2yrs n also hv my high school degree certificate. As it was, the interviewer asked me like you... read complete review

EZ. Most of time we spent is waiting. Some people hired lawyer to do this and it's really unnecessary. What u need do is fill out couple of forms. That's it.
Interview is very easy. And VO is very nice. Some of Chinese k1 encounter a strange VO, who asked u what color is the elephant since she went to Thailand before.
