Stayed at Leden Hotel only blocks from consulate...good value for the money. Interviewer asked to see pictures of us together. Although children's presence required, the Interviewer did not question them...maybe, because of all the pictures of us together :-). No surprises, pleasant experience.

My fiancee arrived about half hour before her 7:45 am appointment. The officer started in Chinese. Asked my name.. He told her that her English is very good. She was very nervous and and the officer asked the remaining questions in English. She was a little confused with some of the questions, in the beginning and didn't answer. He was a little upset and asked well then, how will you talk to each other if you don't understand.. She told him, that she understands me good. He talks slow and explains any words that she might not understand. Then the officer smiled and was much nicer. In the end he gave her a big smile and told her she was approved. She felt the interview was more than 10 minutes and is so happy it is over with. I was so happy to get that first text from her. One word.. APPROVED !!!!
She told me she wish I had a Chinese name, lol.. So he would have not asked the rest of the questions in English. And she answered all the question in Chinese, hehe

Initial entry into the consulate was a bit disorganized, but once we sorted it out, the remainder of the experience was pretty smooth. Just a quick note for those of you applying for an immigrant visa, stay to the left line for entry. The right side is for the non-immigrant applicants. Once my wife was through security, she was directed to the consulate offices on the third floor via elevator. Initially starting in area A where she was assigned a number. Her number was called and they collected the original documents in area A.

When this was completed, she was directed to area B, where the interviews take place. Her number was posted on a screen above her window. When called, she approached and was asked the following questions;

Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth?
Who filed the petition on your behalf?
Where did you meet your husband?
When did you get married?
How many people attended your wedding?
