First of all, I wanna thank all VJs. Thanks a lot for your generous help. My visa is approved!
My interview appointment is at 7:45am and I arrived around 7:30. I came out around 9:15. It took more than an hour but mostly was the waiting. The actual interview only took 8 mins.
In front of the US consulate, there are two lines waiting to get in. Get in line to the immigration interview queue where you will be guided to get thought the security check. (They allow you to get in 15 minutes before your appointment.)
I was in line with quite a lot of people. Say more than 20... Then we headed to a build where we had our interviews. It was on the third floor. Window 1 and 2 are where you get your number. Then wait at area A for your turn. When your number be announced on the screen, go to your specified window to turn in your documents. They took my affidavit of support, tax returns, notarial certificates, passport, medical report, appointment conf... read complete review

My wife submitted her notarized Birth Record at her interview. Officer didn't see it and denied her Visa. Stated that she needed a birth certificate. It took 3 weeks for my Congressman to sort this after my e mails to the consulate were answered with a generic replies. A huge inconvenience for my wife to travel to another city to re-submit her passport after it was sorted.

There were two queues at the entrance of the consulate visa center, one for non-immigrant visa, the other for immigrant visa. When I got there at 8 am, there was a very long queue for non-immigrant visa, in which there were approximately 100 people, probably more inside the building. K-1 applicants should join the immigrant visa queue, which was much shorter, with only 7 or 8 people in the line.
After the security check at the entrance, I went to the 3rd floor. At the 1st window, I submitted the interview appointment letter sent by the consulate. And I got a number there. Then I sat and watched a screen which would tell you in a few minutes the next window you were going to. The officer here speaks Chinese.
At the 2nd window, I was asked to open the physical exam result envelope, and submitted the document inside along with the petitioner's income and tax documents, and my birth certificate/notary, my police certificate/notary there. The officer here speak... read complete review

So here is my review of the Guangzhou K-1 process from the perspective of the Petitioner.
We arrived at the consulate around 8am for the 8:40 appointment. The NIV lime was immensely long and nothing was clearly marked, but after a short talk with the guard She was directed to the IV line which had only 4 people. After 10 minutes outside she entered the building.
Her recount of the inside was average. She said the CO that interviewed her was very very pleasant and nice, smiled often, and she enjoyed the interview. However she said the Chinese guards and paper takers that were in the building were very very serious, and at some times rude.
During the interview they asked her only a few questions.
1. How many times has he come to visit (she opened my passport to count the entry/exit stamps). They smiled and said that was enough.
2. They asked her how long we had been together
3. They asked her what were her plans if... read complete review
