I had my wife shove my 2005 Taxes and W2s to the VO upon greeting him (my P3 packet was completed November, 2005).
He asked her:
1) How did you meet? [Internet]
2) Do you have emails? [Yes.] She gave him a packet with sample emails and many screen shots of our Yahoo chat/web cam session including other family members and also photos.
3) Is your ex-husband permitting your daughter to leave China? [Yes.] She presented a signed, translated and notarized statement from him to that effect.

Hey Everyone,

Quan (cooldog001 on 001) passed her interview today. The whole interview lasted less than sixty seconds. She was asked just three questions.

1. How did you meet your fiance?
2. How many times has he come to visit you?
3. What is your fiance's job?

Then she asked for the I-134, and then looked at some of the photos that Quan brought. She then wrote something onto her I-156, told her to come back at 4pm tomorrow to pick up her passport, and gave her the white slip.

Quan said that she had the nicest VO, and she recognized her from descriptions of her on 001. She said she was a young, white woman, who smiled all the time.

Thanks to everyone here for all of the great advice along the way. We could not have done it without you. Good luck to ... read complete review

Review of the consulate location in Chengdu China:
Typical view of a U.S. Government building "ugly, but cheap" concept applies. The Chinese staff can be half and half, but the same can be said for the American staff and officers for help. Unless your know what your doing or you made a mistake, help and advice is non-existent. Don't expect for anyone to be friendly beyond the business you intend to go there for.

On a personal note, I get the feeling that it's more of a "us vs. them" and if I had to rate the consulate it would have to be some where in the middle on a good day.

Fast and simple once you figure out where to pay your fee and where in fact the Consulate really is as there is not even a sign or a US flag on the new building telling you anything.
Friendly but business like staff at Consulate and they stuck to their own rules for information requests from us.
Watch out for all of the visa scam artists working in the area claiming to be knowledgable for a fee. My guess is trust only yourself and your own research.
The out door line up in the morning offers no protection form the weather, dress accordingly.
