The initial feedback is that my fiance was interviewed by a very nice American man who was fluent in Mandarin. The interview lasted about five minutes; how many times has your fiance been to China ? How long each time ? Where does your fiance work ? The bulk of the interview was in Chinese.
My fiance was coached at the last minute to make sure to have an "evolution of relationship" type letter from me. I wrote and fax'ed a signed three page, somewhat informal, write-up of our story; how we met, how we fell in love, why we needed to be together. The SO read and liked. He said "Enjoy America" and we are on our way.

The security/ushers are rude to everyone unless you show your U.S. passport. After they let everyone in for their interview or whatever, I can see 4 of them playing cards at the entrance by the metal detectors. I sure hope their salary is not from tax payers like us.

Arrived at consulate at 6:30 am to line outside of building,I think it is a good idea to be early. at about 7:30 am began to let people into building. I was not allowed into the consulate so i waited in the park across the street. QingQing was finished and out of the building at 10:15 am with visa approval in hand. she said that her interview was about 2 minuets and she was asked about 5 questions.
1. What is your fiance's name?
2. when did your relationship begin?
3. how many times has your fiance been to china? she then gave the interviewer the copies of my china visas
4. when was your fiance's first trip to china?
5. asked what was fiance's job?
he then asked for some more photos of us together and then told her she had her visa and to enjoy america.
we picked up her visa in the morning of the second day very simple, but the map they give to you at the consulate to find the post office could use alot of work. I think f... read complete review
