The embassy is located smack-dab in the middle of downtown Montreal. It was relatively easy to find, although there are no big signs or flags or anything. The enterance is around the corner, off the main street it's on.
Everyone there was very nice, including the security guards. We arrived at 7:30, and were among the very first people inside. We were the first couple interviewed for CR-1 that day.
At about 8am we were taken up in the elevator, and after getting our number and showing our appointment letter, we sat and waited until about 8:30. Then we went up to window 10, and handed over our number, all of my information and my passport. We then sat again.
At about 9am, we were called up again, and went in to room 7. The woman behind the glass asked us a few questions, like where my husband and I met, when we got married, and if I'd ever had trouble with immigration/customs or the law. Then she said everything was in order and that... read complete review

The Vancouver consulate was pretty good to us. We got our visa! It was a very anitclimactic experience. After waiting so long it seemed like such a simple process. We walked to the embassy the day before and it is a bit hard to spot if you don't know the exact address. We were looking for U.S. flags and all that jazz lol. Basically it's just a tiny door in the SIDE of the building. The security was nerve wracking. You should definitely bring the minimum amount of stuff. Don't bring anything like electronics or large bags or anything that is on your interview letter. They will not hold it for you at the door. Once again as others have observed, the lack of restrooms where you have to wait is not convenient, especially when nervous. Avoid drinking fluids the morning before. The guard saw our interview letter and took us to some seats in a hall thing off to the side of everyone else waiting for other things. I was surprised that we didn't even go into a private room for the in... read complete review

My experience with the consulate was both good and bad. When I recieved my letter in the mail it said my appointment date was November 13, 10am 2006. I was shocked because by then all my stuff on my check list would be expired which was pointless. I sent an email back asking what the problem was and they informed me they had made a mistake and it was supposed to be FEB 13 10am 2006. I was so relieved I got a new letter a couple days later. Anyway though my point out of this don't be afraid to question them, they make mistakes too.
My interview started off getting there by bus it was actually pretty easy and the bus goes within 2 blocks of where you have to be. When I got there, I found the place on the SIDE of the building where you stand out till it's your time, the line is kind of confusing but just go tell the officer your there and ask him what to do. He told me to come back in 30 mintues cause I had got there early. Lots of places to eat aroun... read complete review

My husband went with me for my interview. We were there 9:15 am and my schedule was for 10 am and found out that there were four of us with the same time for K visa interview. I was the last one to arrive. The Officer who interviewed me was nice but strict with documents. He really looked at each page of the documents I submitted and checked if it has the dry seals! He would also check if the name written there is the same as other docs. As long as you have all the documents that was written on the checklist. (If both of you were divorced bring certified copies of both your divorce decrees and check if your police certificates are still valid), you will be fine. I thought it will only be my interview but the Officer also asked questions to my husband. He was sitting behind me and the Officer called him to go to the window.
Here are the questions that were ased to me:
1. How did we meet?
2. When did we got married?
3.How many time did I visit hi in the US?4.... read complete review

The staff were kind and friendly. My interview appointment was at 9:30am but i was actually interviewed at 11:00am. My advise to others is to come early since I think they do a first come first serve basis. They call you based on the ticket number you get from them and not your appointment schedule.
