We had our interview today in Montreal. Got to the consulate around 7:15 and there were a few other people waiting, but we were the only ones organized with our passports and interview letter so when they opened the doors at 7:30, we got to go through security first, which was a breeze, and then went downstairs to wait for the elevator.
They opened the elevator up at 7:50 and we were the first ones on and then the first ones off on floor 19. Turned left and we were the first ones at Window 14, where we had to wait again. The window opened at 8:30 and we got number C-1, then it was time to wait once more.
Around 9:15 C-1 was called and we spoke very briefly with the lady before she sent us to pay the fee at the cashier's window (14). We returned to her window with the receipt and she then asked us for our documents. So, I have finally reached the end of the K1 paperwork and stress :dance: I had my interview in Vancouver this past wednesday and it was eventful to say the least. My fiance came with me and good thing he did! I was a wreck the morning of the interview but once I stepped into the consulate, I was back to calm (for the most part) :whistle: . My fiance was all worried that all the people lined up outside waiting to get their turn through security were going to beat us up when we just trotted right up to the front without waiting in line :lol:. But because VJ kept me one up in the game I knew we were good to go with cutting in and heading right to the front with my interview letter!
We were going through the second security station and I was joking to the fellow inspecting our folder of contents that we are probably over prepared for our interview with all our evidence. The 2 guys started laughing at me and one of them lifted up my folder and said it was only 4 lbs ... read complete review

The interview was surprisingly easy and hassle-free. So long as you have all of your paperwork in order, your visa should be processed on the same day. 
Bring your appointment letter and walk to the front of the line and give it to the guard. They will let you in immediately...and you will not have to wait in the long lines.

Our Interview had been originally scheduled for January 5th, 2006 but since my son was due that day, we rescheduled and were given a date of February 7th, 2006. My husband (USC) met us in Montreal the night before and the next morning we arrived at the Consulate at 9:00am as our interview was at 9:45am. We went through security without any problems and headed upstairs. Sat and waited until our number was called. I went and handed all of our documents in and the officer asked where my x-ray was, I didn't have it as at the time of my medical I was pregnant and the panel physician would not perform the x-ray. The officer told us to go pay the $100, return with the reciept and take a seat. About 20 minutes later we were called into the interviewing room. The officer did not ask us any questions about our "relationship" but more about our newborn son who was just under 4 weeks old at the time. Hi all!! Very exciting news and I definitely had to update everyone here. I couldn't have done it without you!
Long backstory short: my husband and I live in Toronto, moving to New York City next month for my work. I'm the US citizen so we figured back when we were still engaged that the easiest route would be to get married quickly and get him a Green Card. So, done! That was in October of 2005 and I had all the papers ready to go for the CR1 visa as soon as the marriage certificate arrived in the mail! I used this site endlessly for information! Mostly my concerns were about definitions I didn't understand and also conflicting information that I was getting, for example about how many years of tax information you must provide. I was also under the impression it would take the rest of my life to get an interview but things fortuitously picked up for us this summer!
