Despite the challenges in getting to the Consulate interview, once Jonathon arrived there, things were a breeze. He zoomed through security with his clear folder, his x-ray, and his letter --thanks to all of your posts about the rules of security. He was then sent into a holding area downstairs by the elevators until he went up to the cashier area. He was given a ticket and told to wait to be called up to submit his documentation and pay the fee.
He was called into a room about 10 minutes later and spoke with a really nice gentleman for about 7 minutes. Yes, 7. Jon said he asked nothing about how we met or the like, but asked him about his potential job. He then assured Jon that he could get the temporary work authorization at Pearson -- which unfortunately is not the case.
All in all, it was an easy hour and a half after a tremendously stressful waiting period.
That was it. He congratulated Jon and sent him on his way. Interestingly,... read complete review

It was so nerve racking! All of this worry for nothing! The guy who interviewed me was very kind and nice. You could tell that he enjoyed his job. They had everything ready and did not ask for any other evidence. Our interview was April 20 and we did not recieve our visa until May 1! as soon as it came in the mail I was on my way to the United States!

The interview was scheduled for 9:00 but it is a first come first serve so we got there before the doors opened and were about 10th in line. After going through security (which is allot like that at the airport) we went to a waiting room on the main level. An officer then came and took us up in an elaevator and we were in another waiting room. We met only one other K-1 visa (Luc) and by 9:30 we had paid our 100 dollars answered two questions (how did you meet, and what do you think of Alabama). That was it - Pam asked is that all? He told us our case was easy and clean so that was all. We tried to get an earlier flight to Halifax but couldn't. Our Visa arrived in the mail 4 days latter.

Me and my mother in law left our hotel at around 710am and arrived at the consulate at around 720am. A young guy was already in line when we got there. We arrived at the same time as this older couple. We were third in line. Within a few minutes, a couple with their young son arrived and got in line also. Shortly after, around 8 people showed up.
At 7:30am sharp, I saw the famous lady with black curly hair (the one that was supposedly very mean according to some of the reviews I've read in this forum) came out and right away, she began giving 'shiet' to the young man who was first in line, saying that he can't go in because he's got a big bag and an ipod at him. He gave him 'additional' shiet by saying... you were here a 7am, weren't you? You were standing here for half and and and you didn't read the sign? It says, no electronic devices and no bags!! blah blah blah.. I felt sorry for the guy but didn' say anything.. sigh...
The couple in front of us and ... read complete review
