For such a draining process, everything couldn't have gone smoother or with less fanfare. I'll do a small review of the hotel/consulate/medical as well as some overall Montreal thoughts.

Hotel: We stayed at Le Square Phillips. We were going to be here a week...with medical on Monday and interview on Friday so I wanted a place central to both the medical and consulate as well as with a kitchen to save on food expenses. The hotel is pretty nice. Has a pool. Located 2 minutes from the consulate and 8 minutes from Medisys. Staff was nice. Free parking in their garage. A little on the more expensive side but well worth it. Only issue came today, when apparently the Olympic Athlete parade is going on down St. Catherine street and ending...yep...in Phillips Square...so I am a tad worried about road closures since we have to get to the airport by 4. If it's an issue there's a shuttle and a bus right down the street so no biggie.

My fiance reported nothing unusual, just a quick interview and then approval.

Although I was not physically there for the interview, I am going to pass on the detailed information my husband gave me after it was all over. I may not have all the specific details...but should be pretty close.

He arrived at the doors around 6:15am and was first in line, standing in the snow wondering why oh why his wife insisted he get there that early. LOL At about 6:45am people started to line up and he met Lonie and Ravenesque. At 7:30am the doors opened up and he went through security and was handed Letter "A". Im not sure about the waiting area or when they went up the elevator, but I know he didn't wait long before he was waiting to be called up to a window.

Then, they called for Letter "A" and he went up to the window and said the lady was very nice. She asked for our DS-230, I-864 with financial evidence (I had the past 3 years tax returns, paystubs and employer letter), original and copy of marriage cert, his birth cert, and his divorce de... read complete review

As everyone says, easier than you think! I was 2nd in line at about 630am, it wss cold and snowy, go figure!!
Doors opened at 730am and then we passed security, emptied our pockets etc. I got letter B after K&I, waited for awhile and then around 8am they started to call us up, first the man behind the window went through my papers and asked for originals as I had done EP. Asked me to go sit down, and called me back about 10 minutes later to do my fingerprints. Waited about 1/2hr for the interview as he mentioned the downloading of my file would take about that time.(I thought EP made it faster??)
The interview itself was pretty quick, just some questions on where we met, when did he propose and did I have any pictures since its been more than a year that we are married, I answered that we don't really "do pictures", she smiled and said at least you're honest. Thank goodness for the plane tickets and boarding passes, those helped! She kept a copy and said the magic words, ... read complete review

Everyone was really nice and helpful. We had not filled out a form properly so they let us use a computer in the office to do it again. The actual interview took about 7-8 minutes tops and the lady was super nice. She asked to see evidence of the engagement I had a ton of stuff but she only looked at some pictures and the receipt for the engagement ring, and said she didn't need anymore. Ben came to the interview with me so she asked him to be a part of it too. It went great.
