No problems at all. Interviewer was very nice and helpful. Did not take long to get approval. I had all the paperwork in order. That helped.

Went very quick, everyone was friendly and very efficient. I was first in line at 7am outside, let in at 730 and was finished and out the door by 830.
Now if only they'd be so efficient at sending out the approved visas

Montreal Consulate Review
I arrived at the door of the consulate at 7:00am on Thursday morning. No one else showed up until about 7:20. As people started to arrive I realized I must have been one of the only ones who is a member of VJ, because many of them came with backpacks, cellphones etc. All I brought was a plastic shopping bag containing my file folder of documents, and a passport holder containing my passport and photos.
At 7:30 (at least I think it was 7:30 – I didn’t have my cell phone and wasn’t wearing a watch), a guard came to the door and asked who was first in line. I said I was and he asked to see my invitation letter and passport, which I had ready.
He let me in the door, and then up a very short flight of stairs there is another set of doors. I was told to go through the door on the left. This is where the “airport-style” security takes place. You empty your pockets, remove your belt, a watch if you have one, your ... read complete review

I had my appointment on April 1st at 9am but as we all know already it is in fact first come first served. I was there around 6:30am and I was the first one to arrive. After 7am people started to lined up. When they opened the doors at 07:30am there were so many in the line.
I got a ticket with the number 1 on it and in less than 2 min I was called to the window where they fingerprinted me and asked me for my medical and passport. He gave me the x-ray back but after he opened the x-ray package and was sure there was an x-ray disk inside with my name on it. Then he told me to go back in the waiting room. I was called again to another window 5 min later and a nice lady asked me for the birth certificates original and copy, divorce certificates original and copies, police records just the originals (she told me she doesn't need the copies), copy of my passport bio page, I-134 form and supporting documents and the letter of intent, that's it. I gave her just what she asked me and n... read complete review

My appointment was scheduled for Monday, March 28 at 8:30 a.m., but following the advice posted, I was there early, about 40 minutes before the doors opened-it was very cold. I had gone up the day before and done a reconnaisance trip. I stayed at the Queen Elizabeth hotel (expensive, but one night of pampering before the interview was worth it). The Queen E is about a 5 block walk to the embassy, which is closer to Rene Levesque blvd than St. Catherine's. There was one couple ahead of me. I had only taken with me my document case, x-ray (which nobody looked at or wanted) and a very few things in my pocket-wallet with some cash/credit cards, just in case, a couple of tissues, just in case, and a lipstick. The sign on the Consulate door says no purses (no qualification as to size) but I did notice women with small purses were admitted.
The guards inquired as to the purpose of my visit, looked at my passport and appointment letter, then sent me through the left side... read complete review
