I had my medical appointment on Wednesday and my visa interview the next day. I stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront with a friend, my fiancé had to work so he could not come with me. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the consulate and 20 minute walk from Woking Medical clinic. It\'s an overall great hotel.
First the medical.
Bring the following with you:
- A letter from the consulate with your name and case number. Any letter is fine so long as it has those key pieces of information. I brought my Packet 3 letter.
- Your passport.
- A photocopy of the biographic page of your passport.
- 3 color photographs in US passport size (2x2 inches).
- Vaccination records.
- Any doctor\'s letters you might have.I arrived about 20 minutes to 6:30 and there were already a lot of people there. From the conversation some people were there for Cr-1 medicals and a few for K1 but I didn\'t speak to anybody directly.

Arrived at my interview on September 28th around 6:45 AM at the Consulate in Montreal where there were already 2 people ahead of me. About 7:30 we were let in one person at a time and went through security (NOTE: You WILL be required to remove your belt and empty your pockets and put your jacket through the x-ray machine). I was 3rd in and 2nd through security (one lady had 2 kids with her). We were directed downstairs by the elevator. A security guard then told all immigrant visa applicants to stand up and enter the elevator. HINT: When you enter the elevator move to the very back near the "other" door as this "other" door is where you will exit (I was 9th or 10th on, but first off because I did this). The floor number where the elevator stopped was floor 19.
We were greeted by a lady when we got off who directed us to line up and then asked for our appointment letters. I was first in line and received ticket C-1 at window 14A/B. I sat down for about 5-10 minutes and wa... read complete review

The VJ website has been so helpful to read during my process - I thought I would contribute my experience and post my detailed review here. I hope this review helps many VJ’ers in the future!
As a side note - I live in Saskatchewan and my application was initially sent to Montreal by NVC. After many emails to both Consulates, about 3 weeks later my application arrived at Vancouver Consulate (they service K1s west of Manitoba). So for those of you K1s who want to t/f to Van - there is definitely a way if you live in the western provinces.
Within about 4 days of Vancouver receiving my application, I had scheduled the interview and done everything via email and online. They will email you all of the documents if you request this. My interview was scheduled within 2 weeks of receiving packet 4 via email. I was a little concerned that my medical was after my interview, but I did not want to wait until the end of October (which were the next openings),... read complete review

We came out at 6am and waited outside the consulate, there was another couple waiting already.
At around 7am, the guard opened up the door and let us in, we had to clear out our pocket and store anything that are not needed for the interview in a deposit box they provided. We then followed one of the guards to the elevator and went up to 10th floor if I remember correctly (the actual floor number wasn't shown at all for security purpose i think, but you could clearly see most of downtown Montreal from there.
So we were at the floors where the interview took place, it was based on first come first serve, and we were second inline before entering the building so I got my named called after about 10 mins, it was a big room and it was only for validation purpose, the officer verifed my name, ages and my files, then directed me to wait outside so another officer will call my name for hte actual interview. So I went out, sat down, they had free tea and coffee,... read complete review
