Hey all! I wanted to share our experience, and most importantly POE as it appears that once people have had their interview they disappear from this site until the adjustment of status phase.

We had our interview in Montreal. We arrived at the consulate at 6:15am and were first in line. We stood to the left side of the doors as we'd read on this site. Around 6:30am more people started to arrive.

The doors opened at 7:30am. We were taken inside and did the initial securing scan, then were directed downstairs. We sat at the left side of the elevator and were the first ones in. We had read here that we needed to go right to the back as the elevator opens at the back side. Again, we were first out and first to get our number.

We were told to sit in the middle section and a little after 8am our number was called. We went to the window where we submitted my passport and my medical records. Then told to go sit down. About 10 minutes l... read complete review

We had our appointment yesterday and I am so happy to say that we were approved!! We had all of the paperwork that they requested, although I had forgotten to photocopy my birth certificate and she had to make a copy for me, she was not impressed by that. Other than that, we had everything they asked for and more. I was asked some basic questions about how we met, what type of work I do, do we have a wedding date in mind, then he asked Jeff about his job. He was very pleasant to talk to and made us both feel very comfortable. It was a very exciting moment for us. I appreciate all the advice I have received from people on this website and it was helpful to read of other's experiences before our interview day. Thank-you so very much.

I arrived at the embassy at around 6:45 am, there were already 4 people lined up ahead of me. Two were on the wrong side of the door, and were asked to move when the doors opened at 7:30. The guard checked our appointment letter before letting us in, and then we were directed up a short stairway into the foyer where they have security set up.

While I was waiting my turn at security, I watched as the guard behind me sent a few people away for having too large of bags, one was only the size of a portfolio, though I did notice she must have been allowed to cut in when she got rid of it, because they waved her through to the waiting area a lot sooner than I would have expected given that there were about 30 people in line behind me when the doors opened.

I was asked to step aside for additional scanning at security, only zippers in my boots and on my pants were metal so I'm not sure what set the machine off, but I wasn't the only one they did this with.... read complete review

I'm going to start off with a few tips, then summarize my visit.

-If you get there between 6 and 7, you are likely to be one of the first people in line. I arrived at 7 and was 4th. By 7:15 there are more people but it's not the end of the world (depending on the day). 7:30 is when the doors open and that's when the line is noticeably long.

-Read the 'forbidden to bring into the embassy' item list in Packet 4 carefully. You can't have any big bags, food, cell phone, mp3 player. They will take them away at security. If you have any kind of luggage bags they won't even let you in til you figure out what to do with it.

-Some of the people I talked to while waiting for my interview didn't know that their cell phones were going to be left at security. They were all worrying about the family (or whoever had come with them to Montreal) trying to call and not understanding why the interview was taking so long. Tell people they will not be able to re... read complete review

Was first in line at the Consulate. Arrived just shortly after 6:00. The security guard opened the doors right at 7:30. Was nice to be inside where it was warm...lol.
Went through the security scan and was directed downstairs to wait. Waited until about 8:15 and was put on an elevator to go upstairs. Warning! They really crowd everyone on the elevator! Like sardines! Off the elevator you go to booth 14b, show your appointment letter gave her my medical and passport and get a number and wait for your number to show up on the electronic board. Have to watch closely. I was C-1.
Got called up to another window down the hall. The gentleman there was very friendly. Went through my file. Didn't ask for anything as I had sent it all in. Basically just verified everything. Took electronic fingerprints. Handed me my medical back and told me to go have a seat again. Was with him for about 15 minutes. Waited for about 45 minutes then got called up to another window. ... read complete review
