Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancée and I had our interview on March 14th. I flew to Cambodia the weekend before to attend the interview as well. Our appointment was at 8:30; we were allowed to enter at 8:20 and had to place our phones and bags in a locker and head inside through security. Once we were inside and sat down, our number was called the first time to submit the documents. A Khmer person at the window looked through the documents and only took some while returning the others. The second time we were called up to another window, an American woman who spoke Khmer took my fiancée's fingerprints. We were told to sit down again for which felt like a long time. We were called finally to the interview where an American man asked my fiancée to raise her right hand and take an oath. Then, he asked me to confirm that I was the petitioner. He asked us a few questions such as how we met, what I do for my work, and why my fiancée had been denied a tourist visa before (she was denied a B1/B2 visa back... read complete review

I accompanied my husband to his interview today and it was a success! The CO asked me (the UCS) all the questions and only asked my husband 1 question “where is your family from.” It was such a surprise because we were both ready for the loads of challenging questions since we failed the fiancé visa in 2017. Surprisingly, it was all general questions ( a lot of questions though) towards me which I of course know the answer to. Some questions I remember in no particular order:

Where are you from?
What do you do?
Oh you made ‘blank’ amount last year?
Who paid for the wedding?
All your family from America came to the wedding?
Your mom and dad came to the wedding?
How did you guys meet?
Who introduced you?
Are you guys related?
Oh you came to visit your husband 3 times after the visa rejection in 2017?
Who funded it?
How much was your husbands ring?
Did you buy it ... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

Showed up 1 hour earlier than appointment. We weren't able to go in until after 9:30. Many people came dressed like normal or overboard (going to a night club). We dressed professionally like to a job interview. We took our number and waited for about 2 hours and got to listen to all the interviews. Just be honest and have more than the required documentation ready and easily accessible for the CO. I labeled each evidence according to type, I even labeled who signed what. While waiting I noticed that I was one of two other couple who had their spouse or fiance there attending the interview. This is probably the single most important take away I had learned from this process. I actually would not accept a new job if they couldn't accommodate the time off for me to attend my wife's interview. Of course, the place I work at now was more than happy to allow me to do this and with pay even though I had only been there for less than 3 months. I think much of the cases are pretty m... read complete review

My interview experience was very great. I was very well prepared and was able to answer all questions. The questions where easy which required simple true answers. I had all requirements papers with me and everything went smoothly. I cried when they tell me I passed. My advice, be honest and be prepared with all required documentation.
