I was there with my non Cambodian fiancé. Not much asked as we had a five year continuous living together relationship. We were the last to be interviewed and the only ones to get the K-1. Others deigned due to lack of relationship proof, non payment of fee, no police certificate.

We had our K-1 visa interview on September 23rd. It was generally OK. The unnamed American man who interviewed us was nice. The questions were pretty direct. He was concerned about when the photos we had were taken. The only snag was when my fiancee was asked to come back a second time (after I left Phnom Penh) to "prove" (beyond the voluminous paperwork already provided) that her daughter was in fact hers. It's really important to take photos as "they're worth 1000 words". I think that being present (as the sponsor) was why we were successful.

Basically tough to Prove love to the CO. I know they are trained and such to deal with and keep the fraudulent folks from passing and exploiting the system.
Somphos and I have known each other since 2010, We have evidence that proves we were in contact and spoken since 2011 when we decided to add each other to facebook since Skype was no longer great since she was leaving school and would be in her village from then on so video chatting when she had free time when i was actually not sleeping was almost a rare occasion but I suppose that had made us more fond of each other. We decided before even meeting that we wanted to be together, we get along so well, and even better in person when alone and having so many interactions together in many different situations some requiring critical thought and some asking for humor . The red Flags that are understandable were that her cousin had introduced us as pen/pal english mentorship sort of deal. Instead of co... read complete review

I attended my fiancée interview late September. Don't think negative and defeat yourself. Have confidence in the imigration process and each other. It's normal to get nervous because this interview is so important. If you're relationship is genuine then you should have plenty of quality evidence. Put yourself in the shoes of a CO. They don't know you guys, so help them learn about you and your relationship. Help them paint a picture of your relationship. I think decision will be based on evidence and your answers to their question. It's important to practice and interview each other. It's unfortunate that genuine couples also get denied but if you love each other don't give up. There's light at the end of the tunnel. Answer the CO question to the best of your ability and be honest. Honesty is the best policy. Make a good first impression. Be courteous, respectful and professional. Multiple visits are important, quality pictures, phone logs, etc. gooduck!

We were not treated fairly and was not given any more chances to prove ourselves. They assumed right away that we were fraud. And now we have to start all over again. Hopefully they will believe us and approve us next time.
