My fiancee experience was very good. She actually got there a little late for her interview because they got stuck in traffic, but besides that everything went fine! Like everyone else she brought a bunch of pics, letters, e-mais, etc. but nothing was requested as evidence besides all the paperwork that they ask you to fill out. She stayed there for about two hours between doing the paperwork check, fingerprints, etc. The interview itself only took 5-10 minutes maximum. They asked her my name, where did I live, my type of work, etc! and them said that the visa was approved!!!! One advice that can be helpfull is fill out the paperwork but do NOT sign it!! You have to sign it in front of the Consul of the Embassy during the interview!! You can get both police certificates on line and print them at you convinience!! Hope this review will be helpfull to you guys!!!

Our appointment was at 7:15 am, but we arrived 5 minutes late, and it wasn't a problem. Everyone else was scheduled for the same time. We had to fill out a label for their documentation when we arrived with a man sitting out in the room. He was helpful throughout our time at the consulate.
After this everyone went into a small room to submit their forms and the affidavit of support. However, there was a power failure in the middle of this process and the people forgot to call us into the room until we approached them and asked why everyone else had gone through the process and we hadn't. The lady apologized and called us in. She was ok to deal with.
The actual interview was very simple and easy. We were asked to swear to tell the truth, then describe how we met. He was very nice, and approved us after about 5 minutes, maybe less. He didn't even ask to see the evidence of our continued relationship.
Overall, we spent from 7:20 am to 1 pm at t... read complete review

I went to Rio de Janeiro one day before the interview and stayed at IBIS Hotel. It is just 5 minutes walking to the Consulate. I arrived at the Consulate at 6:30 am .There were about 10 people in the line and it was very fast. They checked if I had all documents, another person checked the information in the documents and after that I paid the tax and went to the interview. The consul was very nice. She asked some questions in Portuguese and said our visa was approved.

We arrived in Rio on Saturday the 8th. We stayed at the Diamond Hotel (we recommend staying elsewhere, because the cost was way too high for the quality of services received). On Monday, the 10th, I had an appt. with the doctor. I went to Dr. Joaquim, but some time ago I was in touch with his secretary, Joice. She is super organized and always answered my emails, and I sent a lot of emails to her too. Well, we arrived at the clinic at 8:50 am, and gave her my OB/GYN exam and my vaccination record; everything was ok, so she referred us to the radiology clinic close by, that was completed, and by 10 am we were already back at the doctor's office again. My appointment was at 11 am. The exam went very quickly. Dr. Joaquim is super nice too. After that, we went to the bank and got money to pay the doctor and returned to pay him. We had to wait another 1/2 hour for the guy who was taking my blood. We returned in the afternoon and everything was ready. So, this step was ok.
