My fiancé went on his interview this morning. We had an attorney who really made us nervous because he had two previous denials – but he said everybody was super nice and the woman officer only asked him the following questions:
1) How did you two meet?
2) How did your relationship evolve?
3) Who proposed and how?
4) What do you love about your fiancé?
When my fiancé answered the fourth question, he got super emotional, and the woman officer said to him: "I see that you got denied twice, don't worry – this time you got approved."
And that was it! Happy day. Good luck to everyone! Patience, research and LOVE will help carry you through.

The interview was very quiet and fast.
First asked us to separate only the documents requested in email list that was sent from by Consulate to the petitioner.
Then we are asked to pay the fee within the building itself.
Then each beneficiary, accompanied by her fiancé or fiancée is called for interview. Our lasted 12-15 minuitos, a few brief questions, return the original documents filed at first.
Then we are asked to pay the fee for sending the letter with the passaport and fiance visa to the residence of the groom or bride unAmerican. There is no other way to get the passport with the K-1 visa, which arrived quickly by mail in 7 calendar days.

Beneficiary's review:
When I arrived at the consulate there was a huge line of people, but when we entered inside, the number of people that were in the K-1 visa section was rather small. I don't know why I got very tense to the point I started to cry in silent while putting the papers in order.
At some point they called me and a guy from the staff helped me to put the papers in the right order, after some more wait - the entire thing took almost four hours - I went to talk to a woman behind a glass, she checked all my papers and asked me a few questions just to kill some time while she was checking the papers and probably filling a form on the computer. Up to that point there was no problem.
Some time after I went to the interview itself. Everyone was interviewed in Portuguese by a woman, but I was interviewed by a man. I decided to speak in English since it appeared to me that he was an American that didn't know how to speak Portuguese ver... read complete review

We arrived at the consulate at around 6 a.m. and the line for immigrant visas was very small. Only a few people were in line. We stayed there until a little after 7 when Alex came out to check off the people that were there. About 5 minutes after he did that we were allowed in and escorted to the 2nd floor. Once everyone was seated he gave a 5 minute speech outlining the process and all instructions for what was going to happen that morning. After this, he gave us all papers to fill out with some general contact information, case number, etc... that would be used for the documents, interview, and Sedex.
We were first to turn in our paperwork to Alex and was called back to his desk to get our required documents in order for the documents collection which was to come next. After this we waited about 10 minutes and were then called to the documents collection window. They really didnt need anything from us other than the interview letter, photos, and passport. They... read complete review

We arrived at the consulate around 7:30AM for an 8:20AM appointment. There was a long line for nonimmigrant visa appointments and it was a little confusing at first. Quickly, one of the people working with the cell phone storage let us know where we needed to go, which was a little down the street, at the corner of Rua Mexico and Santa Luzia.
We arrived there and were the first in line for the next round of interviews (the 7:20am group was already in; I don't know if they'd let us in earlier had we arrived at the same time as the 7:20 group).
Before entering the consulate we left our cell phones with the storage service. They charged R$5 (reais) per cell phone and we picked them up at the end. No problems.
We waited in line until about 8:00-8:10. Alex showed up and checked who was in line (name, where we came from). We entered the consulate, passed through metal detector, and went up a couple sets of stairs. We arrived at a room full of st... read complete review
