interview was very to the point, extremely short. They were only interested in seeing the correct paperwork and were happy to help me as fast as possible. There was confusion about the "militia certificate", a weird document that doesn't really exist anymore, so you have to bring an official statement from your town hall saying that it doesn't exist anymore :-). Non-Belgians need not worry about this at all. Anyway, I came back the next day to turn in this form and got my visa 10 minutes later.
Piece of cake.

They're really helpfull and friendly throughout the procedure.
The interview went very smooth. First a lady asked for all the paperwork, then my fingerprints were taken. The Consular Officer asked only a couple of questions, if I was ever married before, how we met and when we started our relationship ... I was lucky to have my visa printed out the same day as the interview. I think I was out of the Embassy in less then 2 hours.
Excellent work by those people there!

Review part 2: because this feature won't let me update my previous review, I would like to add that in general, my experience with the US Consulate of Brussels has been very positive.
While the paying telephone line (a call center) is not useful, the personnel at the US Consulate has really been great. They have responded quickly every time to my email requests for info about the visa process, and have been really helpful in general. So my overall score for this Consulate is definitely 5/5

My appointment was at 2 pm. I arrived 15 minutes before, and there was already alot of people before me, with a wait building up due to security checks before going inside Consulate.
Inside, after half an hour of waiting, I got called to window nr. 1. A lady that spoke Dutch took my documents. Originals were requested and kept, even though I had copies with me. She was not friendly or unfriendly, just professional. She took my fingerprints and I sat back down.
About 10 minutes later I got called to window nr. 3, where the Consular officer sat. He was very friendly, making jokes and only asked me about three questions (when did you get married, where is your husband now, how did you meet). He then explained me some things I have to pay attention to because my husband is military.
Then he said "I see no problems, but the computer is still undecided". They would call me when the visa is done and I can go pick it up. This would take a few working days.
That was ... read complete review

by the time i arrived at the embassy 2 security guys had allready asked what i came to do, it's like you're not allowed into the neighberhood unless you're going - invited- to the US embassy.
so, by the time i arrive there are about 10 people (all USC) waiting in front of me. about 15 min before 2 (my appointment was at 2) they start letting people in. they scan and handcheck every bag what takes forever. they take away my cell, bottle of water, lipgloss and foundation. my mp3 they dont take, but i guess that's just due to bad scanning of my bag on there part. around that time there's a group of about 30 people arriving, so i'm all happy i got there before them.
so i got inside, where i hand my stuff to the (belgian) lady behind window number 1. i go back to sit and wait. i the meantime the whole group starts to enter too(i found out later it was the royal flemish ballet). so i wait and wait and wait. then the consular comes into the waiting area and says they're gonna ... read complete review
