Interview 5/6/06
Well, I really cant add more than the previous members.
Just be there on time and be organised. have everything in order, (original followed by the copy etc etc).
If you're organised and start with a smile, its hard to go wrong. I found all the staff at the consulate to be professional and friendly. Yea, you may have to wait a while but you've probably been waiting for 5+ months already right.
One thing, you must hold on to your interview letter when you hand over the paperwork so don't tear it up once you get to the 59th floor.

Got there on the tenth floor at 7.30 am, the 3rd in the door, but the cue sure filled out pretty quick. I explained I had faxed, emailed, written, rung to try to let them know I didn't have the criminal history yet and need to cancel interview. I did get a return email from them the next day to say they note I have already had my interview and sorry they did not return my email. Am I glad I had got the receipt etc cause they let me have the interview anyway. Silly me had no snacks or anything with me. There are signs everywhere about the lack of toilets up on the 59th floor where the actual consulate is so I thought I better go, not thinking I'd have to get in that cue again. They take you up the lifts about six at a time and then more security. Take a ticket and wait. I had all the documents in order in a A4 size plastic box, so looked very organised. The file folder I made up with further documents and new evidence I did not even open. I was so proud of that folder too and wanted to ... read complete review

Well after all the stress of 'The Interview' it turned out to be easy peasy. So easy it ended up being a fun day, go figure. It felt so good to walk in there and have a pretty good idea of what was about to happen. The only hiccup I could forsee was the fact that both Mike and I had been married a couple of times before and may get 'grilled' on that. It wasn't even mentioned...
Anyways to the embassy gungadin!! My appointment was for 8am so we (my daughter and I) made sure that we were up there with plenty of time to spare. Note you go to the 10th floor, turn right when you go out of the lift foyer and around the corner til you can't go no more, that is where you first wait, but the security guard doesn't show there til 7.45am, people were already queueing when we got there, we were third in line. BTW on the bottom floor of the MLC building they make really really nice coffee, I suggest you have one or two if you have time, I did!! The guard goes through and checks any b... read complete review

Well... it was all very simple and straightforward really! Our appointment was at 8am, so we got there at about 7:15ish.... lol. You cant go up to the 10th floor until 7:30 (the elevator wont let you). Once you get up there, you sit in front of the door for about 10 minutes and wait till they open and then you go through round one of security. Then you sit in these chairs and wait until the 59th floor opens up. Go to the bathroom before you go up if you have to because there are no bathrooms on the consulate floor. Then they let groups of about 5-8 people go up at a time, and right after you get off the elevator you go through security again. If you have a cell phone or a camera with you, they take it and hold it until you are finished with your "interview." Then you go through a metal detector, very much like you were at an airport, and are directed to the consulate room. When you walk in, you walk straight ahead to the machine, push the "immigrant visa" button, and sit down ... read complete review
