Piece of cake! Arrived at consulate 20 mins before my appointment, went through security, took a number and waited for 10 mins before being called to the window. Fingerprinted then I was asked for passport, express envelope and receipt of payment then asked to sit back down. 10 mins later was called to the window where i was asked the follwing questions: what is your fiance's name, where does he live, when were you last in the usa, how did you meet, when are you getting married and have either of you been married before. It was all very casual and straight forward. No further infomation was required and I was told my visa would be mailed out in two days.

Got the lift up to security on the 10th floor at 9:35 for my 10am interview. They checked my passport and appointment letter and pretty quickly had me on my way up to level 59.
I got my waiting area "immigrant visa" ticket at 9:42 and was called to window 3 about 10-15mins after that. The guy was nice and friendly and we joked while he took my passport, fee receipt, express post envelope and a set of prints. I might have signed my sworn statement here as well, or perhaps at the next window? I forget!
I sat down again for another 10mins and was then called to window 6 for my interview. It was with another really nice guy and it took only 5mins at most. There were no real questions, just some casual chit-chat and before I knew it he said "Your visa is approved." All I could say was "Wow. Thank you. That's it? Thank you."
I was back to the ground floor by 10:20 and happy as could be. I called my fiancee and walked around Sydney in a daze for a ... read complete review

With the exception of my wife not being allowed to come up, the experience was excellent, and only took 40 minutes!

TOO EASY.
We were very organised; we had everything with us.
My American finance was with me; calmed my nerves immensely.
remember to get US SIZE passport photos (you can get them in a photo shop below the sydney consulate.)

here's a run down of the days events.
8:45 - Arrived at Consulate attempted to enter. I was advised that I could only enter in at least 30 mins prior to my interview time.
8:45-9:30 - Went for a coffee down stairs in the MLC centre, and spoke to Hubby on the phone.
9:35 - Entered the Consulate. Went through the security on Level 10 and sat and waited to go up to Level 59 in the lift.
9:37 - Went up to Level 59. Went through security once again. Walked through the door and took a number for IV related queries.
9:37 - 10:40 - Waited, waited, waited. Watching what was happening to others. There were two little kids playing around and they were funny.
10:40 - 10:55- My number gets called to Window 1. The gentleman there was very pleasant and apologised for the wait that I had to endure. I noticed that he had a British accent! He asked for my appointment letter and then went to get my file. He then returned and gave me the originals of my documents... read complete review
