A very straightforward process.
Only took approximately half an hour from arrival to exit.
Firstly I was called to the window and the consular officer asked for my passport and papers including some things I needed for the I-134 Affidavit of Support ie proof of ownership of assets, house etc, and my USC fiance's Tax Return for 2010.
She retrieved my file which was an inch thick and was covered in adjudication marks and stamps from USCIS and the NVC.
After ensuring all was in order, my fingerprints were taken and I was asked to take a seat.
At the interview, the CO asked me the usual questions.
When are you getting married?
How did you meet your fiance?
When did you propose and where?
When are you planning to travel to the USA?
How many times have you visited the USA before?
When was your last visit?
The CO informed me that the visa was approved and I will ... read complete review

Overall, I found the Sydney Consulate to be very efficient, fair and a pleasant place to end your visa journey.
Getting to the consulate in Sydney is very easy. Due to the 2000 Sydney Olympics, there are guide posts littered all around the city showing a directory with maps and places of interest. The MLC Centre is depicted on the map and in the list of places of interest, finding your way there will not be a problem if you don't have a map on you. Once you arrived at the MLC Centre, look for the enormous "triangular shaped squary" building as my Dad described it jokingly, however it's a Octagon shape, and as I said earlier, it's enormous, so you can't miss it.
Once inside, you need to find the lift that will take you to level 10. The button will look different to every other button, it'll have "9 10" in smaller text and be positioned below everything else. Once at level 10, you need to go to suite 1010, so go left, and keep going left, you'll pass sui... read complete review

My interview last about 2 minutes, the pre-screen about 5 minutes. Everyone was lovely. Make sure you have your medicals (no Xray needed at interview), passport and 3kg Express Post satchel + any other docs they may have requested.
I had a mountain of evidence. Seriously, about 100kg and they didn't look at it. He asked me:-
How did you meet?
When did you get married?
Have you both been married before? I say 'yes' ... he says, 'we seem to have misplaced his divorce decree. Do you have a copy'. I did, and I gave it to him.
He then asked my daughter what grade she was in.
Asked me what I did for a living and if I wanted to continue doing that.
Asked me where we wanted our green cards mailed to.
Handed me 2 sheets of paper (one for me and one for my daughter) which read - CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR VISA IS APPROVED.
All the staff I spoke with were lovely. They may not have asked for our evidence bu... read complete review

My journey began in Brisbane. I decided fly to and stay over the night before in Sydney to ensure I was there the morning of the interview. I stayed in the Travelodge in Phillip St, I can recommended that, good price (for Sydney CBD!) and courteous enough. It is 2mins walk from St James train stop which has trains directly from the airport for $15 (expensive!) and 3mins walk from the MLC centre. (The MLC centre (center) is actually the corner of Castlereigh St and King St, NOT Martin Pl as the address would have you think)
I ended up waiting in the downstairs foyer of the MLC centre until at least 10:30am (appointment was 11:00am) before going up, I feel like you could actually come to the 10th floor much earlier than that, as the 10th floor is just security and a holding room. After you pass through security (no mobile phones people) they direct you to the 59th floor (which has an awesome view of the harbor bridge and opera house!) where the nice lady's behind the bulle... read complete review
