Let me just start by saying that I had originally been scheduled an appointment for May 10th 2011, but since I have a job offer to start in the summer I requested an earlier appointment. I emailed the embassy my work contract and they immediately emailed me back and rescheduled it to the following day. Amazing.
Had my interview at 10am, I arrived at around 9:20am and there was no one queued up at all. I went straight up and waited my turn. Five minutes later I was called up to the first window where someone checks that the paperwork is all in order. I submitted the MRV and express post envelope and the lady returned all my original documents I sent with Packet 3. I then had to sit back down and wait to be interviewed.
Five minutes later a lovely gentleman interviewed me, he asked me...
- Have you ever had any trouble obtaining a US VISA?
- Is it both your first wedding?
- Do either of you have any children?
- When did you first ... read complete review

My K-1 Fiance Visa interview was easy and painless. I was asked:
1)Where did you meet your fiancee?
2)How long have you known her?
3)How did you communicate?
4)Have you been to the USA before?
5)Has your fiancee been to Australia?
6)Have you ever been married?
7)Have you got any children?
8)Has your fiancee got children? and
9)Have you met them?
9)When do you plan to enter the US?
10)When do you plan to marry?
My appointment was for 9am (12Apr11). I stayed in the 'Pensione' Hotel in George St (near Central) the night before (even though I only live 1 hr from the CBD). I highly recommend this hotel. It is a boutique hotel and I paid just $95 for a single. The rooms are small though.
The hotel is 15 mins walk from the MLC Building.
I arrived at the consulate shortly after 8am and the queue for the security check took about 15 minutes. All up, the whole process took less than 90 mins so I was... read complete review

We were a little confused by the building the consulate is in, but managed to find our way. We also had to have our photos taken on site and theres a great shop for that located over near/around the food section - they even opened early for us to have our\'s taken! Great service getting them done :D
After acquiring them, we headed upstairs for our wait in line (appt. time was 8am), however, the security women in the first staging area called for any US citizens and I stated I was and what I was filing for so they pushed us to the front of the line. We were not only filing my husband\'s I-130 but also our 3 children\'s CRBA and passport applications. We waited only about 2 min. before being escorted up the elevator to the next area where we took a number to wait. There was a bit of a wait, but I think thats because only the booth at the far left was handling our type of filings that day. Service was fast and very friendly - they appreciated our organization - so ple... read complete review
