Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Arrived early to MLC Building at about 7:10am. Waited in lobby. Couldn't go up to Level 10 to after 7:30am when the lift allows you to go up to Level 10. Went up to Level 10 and followed the corridor around to the right to the Security area. Had to wait briefly while guards where getting ready for screening.

Went in to be screened showed passport, gave guards bag to mind which had phone and other essentials in it which can't be taken up to the US Consulate. Was given pass for retrieval of bag when finished with Consular visit.I went through metal detector and then was told to sit in first line of chairs and wait. A few other people were being screened while I waited. Once they were screened we headed to the lift and taken up to 59th floor. Once on 59th floor I left the lift and headed over to another guard booth where I showed passport and was marked off a list and told to press Immigrant Visa button once through the door. Opened door and pressed button for Immigrant Vis... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

The Consulate is very nice and polite. I waited for almost about an hour before getting interviewed. The CO asked me standard questions such as:

How did you meet him?
How did your relationship progress?
Did he meet your family?
When will you have the wedding?
Will you family fly over?
Did you have any problem with US immigration while you were there? (I was a student in the US before)

Then she said I got APPROVED and if I had any questions for her.

Finally I can say I have the visa yippie!!!
Arrived in Sydney 20 February, interview 9am 21 February. Like most other people I was extremely nervous, arrived early with thick pink folder in hand lol. Went to 10th floor (Lobby) checked in luggage and personal items and asked to wait for the Security Officer to be escorted into the lift to go up to 59th floor. Stepped out of lift and spoke to lady at glass window then told to go through steel door, lucky for me the the heavy steel door was still open from previous people just had to close the door after myself and man it was heavy. Only waited about 15 minutes before being called to the first window, lovely young lady checked my paperwork and asked me to take a seat. I was called back within 20 minutes and interviewed and told there was an issue with my medical the doctor has not completed the form correctly and unfortunately could not issue the visa until the Doctor had sent the correct forms back. Well 3 weeks later I am a... read complete review

Overall the Consulate was good as well as the interview process, although, the interviewer was typing a lot of things on the computer. This make us both nervous and then she went over our applications like couple time to make sure we had everything. We both thought we had everything, but unfortunately, we were still missing one document. It is my fiance' Vietnamese police certificate. So the best thing is to check with the embassy website to make sure you have everything on the day of the interview. This causes my fiance' not to have his visa deliver to him. We have to patiently waiting some more days.
