Well let me just start by saying how nervous I was for my interview, but I had nothing to be worried about.
The lobby of the mlc centre is confusing when your head is as full as mine was, I had an appointment for 7:45am, arrived at the mlc centre at 7am ish and checked at the security desk where I was suppose to go. He instructed me to sit back down because it won't open until 7:30am, no worries, I sat down and there was a few other applicants with me.
The security guards are all friendly and it was a simply and smooth process, I checked my documents with the ladies and checked my bag in. Was escorted upstairs and we had to take a number and wait to be called. It's all bulletproof glass and they speaker to you through the microphone but all was good. Biometrics was taken and shortly after that I was called back up to have the "interview" which is just another gentleman behind some glass.
I was asked under oath if all information was correct under my knowledge, a... read complete review

Everything went as expected. The people who experienced issues were those who came unprepared and did not have everything they needed with them. If you are prepared, the visit and interview go smoothly and everyone is professional and respectful.

The feedback here is mostly consistent with my fiancé's experience so I just have a couple of challenges to share that I hope will help someone else out! This is the short version:
>Suggest requesting the AFP Certificate as early as you feel comfortable and open the package when it arrives to ensure all is in order.
>Make sure that the officer doesn't give you your medical back in the documents they return to you during the interview. They should keep it as they have it to put in the sealed package you need for immigration that gets mailed to you after the interview.
>Expect significant delays around holidays.

Here are the details:
>There are documents you receive that you can and should open (like the AFP Certificate) and there are documents you receive that you shouldn't open (like your medical). We goofed and didn't open the AFP envelope until a couple of days before the interview and discovered that the officer that took my fiancé... read complete review

Had my interview on Tuesday 10/01/17. Was a very easy and smooth process.
The lady who interviewed me was lovely and it was more her just putting things in the computer and a very , very casual chat. In a very relaxed way she asked how I met my fiancee, when we started a relationship, what he does for work, what I do for work , all while she was typing away on the computer. She was lovely. Then said, you're approved . Easy peasy!

The security is quite intimidating, but I always find security intimidating! When you arrive you are made to turn off your phone then proceed to hand your documents to 2 ladies at the front and they pull out what they need. You then go through security, you cannot take anything but your wallet with you. After that you are put in a lift and taken up to a very high floor (Cannot remember exactly). You give your passport to someone and then they will buzz you into the consulate (where the interview takes place etc). You ... read complete review
