I found my interactions with officials at the Albanian Embassy frustrating. They were not rude....but I only actually spoke to one real human there. Call and they transfer you to one of three lines, no one answers on that end and the voice-mail boxes are full. I kept calling and when I finally speak to someone, they tell me "wait...." and give no further information. No one made any effort to research our case or 'go the extra mile.' I tried to fax them (over here we are 6 hours behind) after work and the fax wouldn't even go through.
I tried to have our case transferred from Greece. The Greek Embassy said my fiance needed to make the request through the Albanian Embassy, however whenever my fiance called the Albaninan Embassy he could not get through either. We waited (2) two months to get that cleared up and only after threatening with my senator and house rep, that I, too, am a federal employee, calls and e-mails, (too many to count); did they finally make the switch... read complete review

I just wanted to say that although it is at times frustrating and difficult to get thru on the phone, this embassy does go out of there way to help as much as possible.
When I email, they return within a day or two.
When I call, they do seem to do their best to help (although they seem not to give a lot of info. on the phone).
I have also visited the embassy (several times while visiting my husband) to check on our case and all the workers were not only helpful and honest, they seemed to care (which is nice).

I had confirmed prior to flying to Albania that I could attend the interview and then they would not let me inside! I was finally able to enter between 2 and 4 when they let Americans inside and luckily my fiance still was waiting so I was able to join him.
The guards and initial contact outside the embassy are rude and speak very little English.

When you call to talk to the embassy about your fiance's visa it is better to let the person from Albania call. The people you talk to are Albanian and they seem to respond better to my fiance then me.
