  1. Well, you do not have to pay for EAD and AP when you do your AOS so you may as well. It'll allow you to get it a few months earlier.

  2. I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking of filling the spaces with my most recent visits over the past year as I've been multiple times since I was a child. I would need a book to write them all down, lol!

Sorry about the slow response. I travel down to the US every 2-3 weeks and have been doing that for quite a while. For that question, I listed the last couple of times I went down there and on the last line, I said to see the attached supplement. On that sheet, I explained I go down approximately _____ a year and stay at (insert location). If you've only traveled down to the US 5-6 times, list them all; otherwise, just give them a general idea.

  3. I'm guessing you live in Calgary from your signature. You'll have no trouble getting an August date. For Vancouver, there is only a 2 week waiting list. If you're going to book your medical at the same time, remember that Woking is only open on Wednesday. Your medical results are available for pickup at 1:30 so I recommend staying a couple days and booking your appointment for the Thursday.

  4. Couple things:

C&A, you'll be fine with those amounts. These I-134 is definately easier than the one needed for AoS. Print those tax transcripts and get a letter from his father. If you want to play it completely safe, you can also get it notarized. Do not worry about having it on any kind of offical letterhead.

TNA, this is all the beneficiary from now on. Feel free to start filling out the form immediately and send it in. Definately fax in the DS-230. Are you going to the Montreal or Vancouver consulate? Sorry, missed your last question. After you send in Packet 3, they will send you a letter saying you can book your appointment online. Process is slightly different between Vancouver and Montreal.

  5. Congrats to those others who picked up their NOA2's over the last few days.

I received my packet 4 today, only took 6 days. For those booking in Vancouver, the wait is only two weeks! I am currently waiting on a response from the Canada forum to see if I can book an exact day or if they just give you the earliest. Really hope it is the former as I am hoping to steer away from keeping an idea of what their booking times look like.

  6. Hey guys,

I just received my letter from the US consulate in Vancouver for me to book my appointment. I am wondering if you're able to choose the date of your appointment or is it given to you in a first-come first-serve basis. I am actually hoping for a later date than they say earliest date is and it would be a lot easier instead of checking the site repeatedly to get the date of my choice.

  7. I've actually been here for quite a while, Diana. Other than the few initial posts, I've stayed in the background because I was one of those few lucky people who got their NOA2 really early. Since I planned around it being 8 months, I feel bad so I just stay in the back.

I didn't get to choose my doctor. I got a nice older lady who didn't even wait for me to breathe out before she was grabbing my boys lol. If you read the Canada forum, they recommend the females to wear a bra. It doesn't matter if you do or not, you'll be removing it anyways. I'm pretty sure you'll be getting a female doctor though, I didn't see any males.

Packet 3 is sent so I'll let you know turnaround when it arrives.

  8. Congrats on the NOA2!

The Medical went well. I arrived just after 6am and was 16th in line. They opened up the door at 6:30 and we began the tests at 7am. The bloodtest and xray is really quick and I was done that by 7:30am. The part that took a while was waiting to get your physical done. I ended up getting mine done at 10am. I'll be going back at 1:30 to receive the results of my bloodtest.

I will do my best to fax packet 3 in today but since I am requesting a later date, I will only be able to give a turnaround time versus what the current wait is.

P.S. Apologize if that seems quick. My first post of this, with more detail, didn't seem to go through.

  9. Yes, except I would add:

    Cosponsor filing:

    #3 - Name of beneficiary

    #10 - None (Cosponsor filing with I-129f)

That way it leaves no room for miscommunication between USCIS and you. The best thing for you to do is read over the instructions that is provided for you on the USCIS website for the I-134, at least 2 times.

I really appreciate everyone that added to this information. I've been wondering about this. I wont lie though, the I-864 looks terribly intimidating!

Glad to see everyone is holding on strong! Back to hiding in the shadows.

  10. I would not worry too much. Currently the ones getting their NOA2 early is a bit of an anomaly but for the most part, the average processing time is still 5 months. If you happen to be one of the lucky few, you'll be able to delay it until after July very easily. Once you receive your NOA2 hardcopy, it is valid for 4 months. From looking at prior cases (and don't take my word at this), as long as you get your paperwork in before that date, they'll extend the validity date as needed. This will allow you to push your interview off.

  11. Jaime has a A# from when she was adopted from Korea into the US. That is the one I forgot to put on. She kept telling me she didn't have one until I looked at her citizenship form but atleast it didn't throw up a problem.

I was looking at those other cases and I didn't see anything in common. We weren't all from Canada, and I'm sure many others have just as easy of a case as us that filed before us. I thought maybe Nexus but they don't have that. I'm going with just plain luck!

  12. Thanks guys! I do feel bad as I wasn't in a rush for mine while there are others who are waiting to be with their loved ones. I'll allow it though since that removes a huge amount of stress of the shoulders. I didn't do anything special...I have a Nexus, probably the only special thing.

I would send in a revised form, Ashley. Play it safe that way. It'll probably not even matter. I forgot to add Jaime's a# to a few of the sheets and it didn't affect me.

  13. Hello there,

I was not expecting to get my NOA2 so soon but now I am actually a little worried about our good fortune. I am currently in school and set to graduate in August so it was no problem with these previous timeline; however, with the new one, I will not be ready to move down there right after the interview. My question is are you able to travel back and forth AFTER the interview without using your K1-visa? I have a Nexus pass, would I just continue using that to enter?

I tried to search the forum with this but it kept bringing up traveling during the k1 process. Most people would be jumping at being able to enter US earlier.

  14. So I think I'm the second person in this thread to add a NOA2....This is a NOA2 right?

I'm still a little in shock so I really hope I'm not reading this wrong.

  15. For anyone with a Mazda that wants to import it to the US.

I just called Mazda and they directed me to their website to fill out a form to be faxed in.

The form can be found here: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/pdf/faq/us...mp_exp_form.pdf

The message said that you will get your letter in 10 business days while the form says it takes approximately 20 days. It also looks like they email it to you unless you specify otherwise. Best part, it looks like there is no charge!

I really appreciate that link, wouldn't have found it without your help!

I apologize for the late bump but I have a question about my car. Looking at the nhtsa, it says that you cannot import the car if it is a salvage vehicle. I purchased mine from an ICBC lot so I'm pretty sure mine is a salvage. Does this mean I will be unable to import it? It was written off for damage to driver side door (no frame damage) and it cost me $8600 after replacing the door.

I own a 2009 Mazda 3, and have had it for a year since last week. I'm wondering if it will be better to sell the vehicle and just buy a new one over there.

  16. It is too bad a few of you won't be able to see eachother for V-day. I believe we are keeping ours very low key, more planning for the wedding and dinner.

Is anyone working on paperwork to pass the time between NoA1 and NoA2? I have been thinking about getting my policecheck because it lasts a year and may go do my medical but unsure if I should wait on that one. I am thinking I may order a long form birth certificate but unsure if I'll actually need it.

We've just started looking at places, will be our first place for both of us. Been deciding between Seattle and Spokane since she got accepted to both law schools. Seattle is definately more expensive but I'll probably have an easier time getting a job with my comp sci degree. Should be an interesting few months as we weigh the benefits of both.
