  • Our Story
My dad is a World WAR II Vet ,while at the Veterans Administration dental appointment , he saw a picture on the wall and said she is an attractive lady, his dental assistant for 10 years, said that is my niece ,she lives in Viet Nam,,,My dad asked is she single,,,my son is looking, so they exchanged emails and addresses, So Dieu sent me a picture and nice card, we started by sending emails and instant messenger [yahoo], Dieu had studied English when she was younger, but when her Dad died at age 15, she had to quit school and find a trade to work , so she went to school for hair and makeup, and photography by 19 she had her own studio with 5 students. So her skills in Engish had been almost forgotten, however she reads and writes better than speaking. I purchased disposable calling cards, so we could talk. also I got a web cam. Our correspondence was very simple, hi how are you,,,thinking of you,,,questions she asked about me,,,as our communication grew so did our fondness for each other, 2006 our relationship grew, in 2007 we started to become serious, we had talked about her coming to USA, and marriage. In march 20008 i asked Dieu to marry me, she said yes but said she had to ask, the next day she called me and said her mom had appproved. In August 2008, the Grandfather came to the USA, visiting his daughter [the dental assistant] My Dad and I met with him at the Aunts house, he asked me questions and talked to my Dad and Me. He said even though it was a short time he loved me and my Dad, and he thought I would be a good husband for his granddaughter, so he approved and so did my Dad. Dieu is from a very traditional family, so approval from the family elder was a must. I got a rechageable phone card for evidence. I planed a trip to Viet NAM, My Dad would go with me, July 14- Aug 5 2009, we were greated by 10 family members, I was tired from a 30 hour flight, but when i looked at her holding a bunch of flowers ,,,WOW, I fell in love at first sight, I thought she is the one , she will be my wife, we will have children, both of us had exceeded the others expectations, I will hold her had for the rest of my life,,,,we stayed with an aunt and uncle, and visited relatives and sights, on July 27 2009, a date set by the grandfather, we had our engagement ceremony. After I returned to the USA I filled my paperwork, with some help from the aunt, I also sent Dieu to English classes full time in Saigon.
I think my 1st I-129 package was not as organized or professional as it should have been, and she had a bad interview, so after sweating the whole process out, we were turned down, case closed. But we had a dvd of engagement ceremony , dvd of cam quarter, cd with hundreds of pictures, and a stack of evidence over 2inches thick but it was not enough or not good enough for HCM . So,I returned again Jan 20 - Feb 12, It was during TET, but my main thing was to hold my lady,,,she is my future. I will file again in a few months.
