  1. hello everyone

I'm in the process of preparing documents on I-485 and come across vaccination supplement requirement. I learn that only the vaccination supplement is requested for K-1 visa so can I just send in my fiancee's vaccination documentation worksheet (Form DS 3025) that she got from Viet nam or I have to get form I-693 filled out by a civil surgeon. Any suggestion? Thanks for your help.

  2. I just apply for the 5 year visa (if you're vietnamese american or spouse of a vietnamese or vietnamese american, you can apply for this), stamped in my passport for total of $50 dollars for 10 days processing in September at the Vietnamese consulate in Washington. Send at least $40 for normal processing (a month waiting, not recommended), but don't ever send just $30, you will not hear back from them if you miss anything and your application will not be in the system even if you call them. Call and check after sending for 1 week, they will let you know the status. Attached is the email I got from them talking about the fee. All you need to send in is your passport, evidence that you're vietnamese (birth certificate or old vietnamese passport, check out the website, they have more things that you can submit), passport photo, the application and returning envelope with stamp. I used USPS certified mail since it's cheaper than us express and you can still have date stamped and tracking number. Anyways, the whole process took about 2 weeks and I have visa good for 5 year :D

Here is the email I got from them

  3. One way to sneak in with your fiancee on the interview day (not waiting across the street) is to let the guard know that you come for American services such as notarial services or passport services, then sneak to the right to get to visa section :D (only work for interviews in the morning since the American services hours is from 8:30 to 11:30AM)...

  4. take the docs to the window, they will likely tell her to wait a bit, then they will call her up, and they will ask for passport then and give her the pink slip... in cases like this... the visa has already been approved, they just need the docs to wrap up loose ends... the passport will be needed so they can put the visa in it.. they will likely tell her come back a week or so later to pick up the passport with the visa inside... tell her to expect the translator may ask her some interview type questions again... its just the interviewer showing off.. the CO doesnt care at this point because they are pretty much done with you.. but if the interviewer was to ask something that she should obviously know and doesnt.. the CO can always rethink the decision...

thank you Scott..that definitely clear up things for me...i'm crossing my fingers now..:D

  5. thanks for the reply, my fiancee got interviewd last December and put under AP since. Last month, we were told to update those 2 documents and we will hand those in next week or so. I guess I will tell my fiancee to bring her passport just in case. So should we turn in all the documents and passport at the same time at the window or just turn in those 2 requested documents and wait for their instructions. Thanks.

  6. hi guys...first of all, thanks for posting these valuable information...I was in the same situation for months and this post keeps me hope until now. I was recently requested of PC and medical but not the passport. My fiancee still has her passport in hand. I don't know what are my chances here because I assume the Consulate will need to stamp the visa into passport if we got issued a visa. Can you guys please share if your passport is requested to have visa stamped or how it is done? Thanks.
