  1. Wifey is making me insane with this issue (haha), so I am going to ask here so I can get a concrete answer. So, she was flagged for a sputum culture test. SLEC advised that the interview should still be performed, which (of course) resulted in a conditional rejection due to the testing requirement. She just received the results on 3/14/2025 (negative), and SLEC said they forwarded the results to the embassy, and we should send all our 220g documents to the embassy for visa issuance, which for her was just her passport. She sent her passport to the embassy in Manila via the preferred courier (can't remember the name of it). She is going nuts because she is seeing people on TikTok who were on the same timeframe as us and same testing process getting their visas already. I told her for every one tiktok video she sees, there are likely 1,000 people waiting just like us, but she is still all freaked out. So, my question is, how long should we realistically expect it to take from Sputum test results to visa issuance?
  2. Apologies, I chose the wrong option. I am not DCF. According to all the folks who've been expedited in Manila, they can go online once they are expedited and schedule their appointments without waiting for the consulate to schedule them.
  3. So, we are finally at the point of scheduling our visa interview, so I headed to USVisaScheduling.com (I don't know who created this site, but they need to turn in their web development degree, lol). Anywho... When I go through the required "Visa Application" process, which is odd given we already applied and were DQ'd and expedited, I get held up at the point where I enter the NVC case number. I have copied and pasted it directly from the NVC, and I keep getting an error saying "The case number entered is invalid." Has anyone else received this error and how did you fix it?
  4. Oh, and from what I just read, any visa medical exams completed after Nov 1, 2023, no longer have an expiration date. They are indefinite https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-new-guidance-on-form-i-693-validity-period
  5. Awesome, thanks so much, I kept reading so much conflicting info. Thanks for clearing it up with actual experience
  6. Hey all. We were DQ'd in June 2024, and my wife wants to get her medical early because we know some scarring in her lungs will lead to more testing. She wants to schedule it for January, but I read you cannot schedule it without the appointment letter. Can we schedule it before receiving our appointment letter from the NVC, or do we have to wait? Thanks!
  7. Hey All, I am a member of several spousal visa FB groups, and they are all reporting there was a mass auto-expedite for cases DQ'd through November 2023 in the past 24 hours. If your DQ date is Nov 2023 or earlier, you may want to check to see if yours was included :).
  8. Looks like there was a pretty big auto-expedite yesterday according to the Spousal Visa Journey FB group. From what I can see, people as late as Nov 2023 DQ got expedited without requesting it.
  9. Yeah, that's what I assumed. Appreciate all your help. Just trying to keep my poor wife sane lol. She's really stressed over this, cause she thought (we both thought) the longest wait was done. ugh
  10. Yeah, for us it was the same. Just seemed logical and was in our hearts to get married and do the CR-1. Hindsight, I would've done the K-1 and just got married here. Fro the past year, my business was rocking, so I was able to head over there every other month or so to visit. Sadly, that is no longer an option, so we are now going many more months apart. We last saw each other in early June, and we likely won't see each other again until December or so. One question, the NVC says we can contact them after 90 days if we have not received an interview. Has anyone actually contacted them? What's the result of that? I assume it's just "Oh, there is a backlog. Too bad. Just wait."
  11. Yup, the exact same thing happened with mine. So dang frustrating.
  12. The odd thing is we did both the I-129F (K-3) and I-130 (CR-1) per immigration lawyer's recommendations. The I-129F never even made it to the NVC. The I-130 was quickly approved, making them cancel the I-129F. Would have probably been better if they just let the I-129F roll on at this point. Ugh.
  13. Ugh... oh boy. Well, what a ####### show this has turned into. My wife is seeing her friends on K1 visas getting approved in 3-6 months, so she's now freaking out. Guess we're in for a looooong wait. Funny, my wife's name is May too, haha. Man, in Indonesia, it was soooooo fast. We actually had to delay them because she was a J1 visa when we met and had to fulfill her 2 years in her home country first.
  14. It's been a while since I've been on here. Last I went through this process was in Indonesia 12+years ago, and it was so straightforward and efficient. My new wife is from the Philippines, and we just got DQ'd on July 5, 2024. So, I am trying to wrap my head around all the dates. The NVC told us they will schedule us an appointment within 3 months in Manila. But I am seeing here that it seems like it's more like 12 months from DQ to interview in Manila. Is that correct? Thanks!
