  1. Oh, and from what I just read, any visa medical exams completed after Nov 1, 2023, no longer have an expiration date. They are indefinite https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-new-guidance-on-form-i-693-validity-period
  2. Awesome, thanks so much, I kept reading so much conflicting info. Thanks for clearing it up with actual experience
  3. Hey all. We were DQ'd in June 2024, and my wife wants to get her medical early because we know some scarring in her lungs will lead to more testing. She wants to schedule it for January, but I read you cannot schedule it without the appointment letter. Can we schedule it before receiving our appointment letter from the NVC, or do we have to wait? Thanks!
  4. Hey All, I am a member of several spousal visa FB groups, and they are all reporting there was a mass auto-expedite for cases DQ'd through November 2023 in the past 24 hours. If your DQ date is Nov 2023 or earlier, you may want to check to see if yours was included :).
  5. Looks like there was a pretty big auto-expedite yesterday according to the Spousal Visa Journey FB group. From what I can see, people as late as Nov 2023 DQ got expedited without requesting it.
  6. Yeah, that's what I assumed. Appreciate all your help. Just trying to keep my poor wife sane lol. She's really stressed over this, cause she thought (we both thought) the longest wait was done. ugh
  7. Yeah, for us it was the same. Just seemed logical and was in our hearts to get married and do the CR-1. Hindsight, I would've done the K-1 and just got married here. Fro the past year, my business was rocking, so I was able to head over there every other month or so to visit. Sadly, that is no longer an option, so we are now going many more months apart. We last saw each other in early June, and we likely won't see each other again until December or so. One question, the NVC says we can contact them after 90 days if we have not received an interview. Has anyone actually contacted them? What's the result of that? I assume it's just "Oh, there is a backlog. Too bad. Just wait."
  8. Yup, the exact same thing happened with mine. So dang frustrating.
  9. The odd thing is we did both the I-129F (K-3) and I-130 (CR-1) per immigration lawyer's recommendations. The I-129F never even made it to the NVC. The I-130 was quickly approved, making them cancel the I-129F. Would have probably been better if they just let the I-129F roll on at this point. Ugh.
  10. Ugh... oh boy. Well, what a ####### show this has turned into. My wife is seeing her friends on K1 visas getting approved in 3-6 months, so she's now freaking out. Guess we're in for a looooong wait. Funny, my wife's name is May too, haha. Man, in Indonesia, it was soooooo fast. We actually had to delay them because she was a J1 visa when we met and had to fulfill her 2 years in her home country first.
  11. It's been a while since I've been on here. Last I went through this process was in Indonesia 12+years ago, and it was so straightforward and efficient. My new wife is from the Philippines, and we just got DQ'd on July 5, 2024. So, I am trying to wrap my head around all the dates. The NVC told us they will schedule us an appointment within 3 months in Manila. But I am seeing here that it seems like it's more like 12 months from DQ to interview in Manila. Is that correct? Thanks!
