Our Story
We met on a flight-simming forum back in January 2004 and discovered we had a lot of things in common aside from a love of flying around the virtual skies. We exchange emails and chats as friends almost daily for years, with no thought of it ever going further, particularly since I was married.
He wanted a grand adventure and so came to Alaska for a visit in July 2008. We had a lot of fun hiking and sightseeing, and then he went back home.
A few months later, my 8-year marriage came apart. He came back to help me in April 2009, and we realized we might actually be in love.
I went to Denmark for a couple of 2-week visits, and he came back to Alaska for a six-month visit over the summer of 2010. We figured by the end of six months, we'd either be very happy or very sad to be parting, and in a better position to make some big decisions.
By mid-September there was no doubt that we would be VERY sad to part.
He went back to Denmark on October 1, and we started gathering documents. Our petition was in the mail November 12, 2010, and approved April 5, 2010.
