Immigration is not a right, this is exactly why a K1 visa is NOT an immigrant visa. It's simply a piece of paper allowing you to get married to your love and life partner.
To immigrate and therefore stay in the US, you have to apply for AOS. That is way after the wait for NOA2.
I'm sure you all know that so don't take your frustration out on Al, who was perfectly right : the current wait doesn't make any sense.

Whether immigration is a right or a privilege, that does not change the need for a system that works.
The government says "we will allow immigration under X conditions". You satisfy X. Terrific! That is, until you start to use the system and find that it takes a minimum of 5 months for them to spend 15 minutes reading a petition you spent days preparing. And you get ZERO feedback on where you stand. You try to find out where you stand, and you get some clueless knucklehead reading excuses from a sheet. That's a system?
Make the system work! The system needs to be as transparent as glass. The USCIS website should have daily tallies of all petitions by NOA1 date and NOA2 date. Names and EAC numbers are confidential, so don't post them. But dates are public data, which USCIS has no interest in hiding (or at least they shouldn't have any). The data is there, so organize it and present it on the website. That would eliminate most of the calls and almost all of the anger and frustration.
Government in the United States is supposed to be transparent, absent a national security need like the CIA or the Army Special Forces. The USCIS, on the other hand, operates more like a holdover from the Soviet Union than an agency of the United States of America. Operating this way is deplorable and totally inexcusable.

After two weeks of fair progress (I would not go so far as to call it good), the Vermont Disservice Center gave us ZERO approvals on January 13, and so far ZERO for the January 14.
Have they had a relapse of the coma that prevented them from attending to their responsibility to United States citizens like the one they had in the last quarter of 2010?
What is their problem? Why don't they just do what we paid them to do?

Hi everyone,I know I am one of hundreds and hundreds and I guess I am just venting but I am so desperate to hear something soon.We filled in August last year (feels good to say this) It will be our fifth month of waiting next week, then we should probably start to be pests and start calling them.I just hate our lives on hold especially having all the exciting and fun plans that we have.We want to have our wedding on May 1st and I guess soon I will start to worry that we wont make it in time.Well hopefully we will :)Thanks to all of you being helpful and cheerful!I know this journey is worth it and I know I am lucky to have my fiancee visiting once in a couple months.I just want to start living like two normal people without being constantly worried about the whole thing not working out and even having to prove our love to someone who wouldnt care less if we will be together or not....you know what I mean
Wish good luck to all of you and have a good new year!!!
