  1. So that covers the 5 minutes just before his speech. What about the other 80-odd years he’s made this planet miserable? 😒
  2. Amazingly, I’ve been here a little longer than Neon. 🧔🏼‍ I even remember a time before CEHST, even before moderators. Things could get a little wild back then. There used to be robust discourse, name -calling, hissy fits and all manner of inappropriate temper tantrums. VJ once became famous with a right-wing blogger, as a member here let a beef spill over into the outside world, throwing shade at the site in general and threatening to report one particular couple to USCIS for visa fraud. Fun fact, those crazy kids will be celebrating their 20th anniversary later this year. Then there were the crazy cat ladies. The cats may not be the same, but the crazy is still going strong. I’ve see couples here make it and make it last. I’ve also see folks for whom this process didn’t work out. I spent a good few years on here having fun, debating with others and suffering through Big Dog’s smugness about German football. I took a break after the then Other-than-White power couple called me a racist. I just didn’t need the hassle. Life played catch-up around that time and a while later I went to work somewhere a little more exotic. Time passed and I didn’t really miss it here. I may hang around here for a little while longer, or, if work, life, or the country gets crazy, I might not have the time. That’s the fun thing about life. You never know what’s around the corner.
  3. There are four letters which should ensure the US does not abandon Taiwan in the case of a Chineses invasion. TSMC.
  4. DeSantis will not be the GOP candidate if he can’t beat cartoon mouse 🙄
  5. DJT invaded the back rooms of Washington. He was an outsider, who did not know the way the Washington machine works. He threatened the established order. He was a disrupter. And Washington could not abide that. What made home so effective on the world stage made him an existential threat to the machinery of government that had cosily plotted along for countless years. While his actions had kept China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc. guessing what his next move might be, Washington could not take the risk that his disruptive process might transfer to them and uncover what, if it saw the light, might leave people without their cushy jobs, their pensions, their side hustles, their future media careers. That was to be avoided at all costs. So they waged war, a war they are still waging. Because if their efforts fail, and he manages to overcome the weight of the machine arrayed against him and regains the White House, he will be ready this time. With enough Congressional support, he will hit the ground running and the metaphorical bloodbath in Washington will make their worst nightmares seem like pleasant daydreams.
  6. “Our disastrously-led forces lost to a bunch of mountain tribesmen.” The author must surely realise that EVERYONE has lost to those mountain tribesmen. It’s not a particularly military thing, it’s just that they like to fight. As for the rest of the article, that’s why the Second Amendment was written.
  7. He would never be convicted in this country, hence the relegation to the subject of bioweapon research 🧐
  8. The creep needs to go be a human guinea pig at his pet bioweapon research facility in Wuhan. 😒
  9. There is something seriously wrong with you 🙄
  10. I was in Japan when COVID first appeared on the scene and no-one believed it was anything other than lab-developed. A number of the folks I worked with had done time in China (they’re a big player in my main area of expertise), and most of them assumed it was intentional. No-one believed the wet market red herring for a moment.
  11. You do know that 82% of statistical analyses are made up, don’t you? 🤣
  12. Only through revisionist dictionary definition does the National Socialist movement fall on the right-hand side of the political spectrum 🙁
  13. California is only complaining because they don’t need any more Democrat voters 😈
  14. I’m not overly concerned with George Santos, as in, my opinion, he’s a worthless little toad. What concerns me is the likelihood of reputational damage and physical reprisals against those wishing to aid defendants of any political colour, but especially those to the right of centre, by those of an opposing outlook. We are on a downhill path to mob rule and judgements like this will just add roller skates.
  15. https://apple.news/AL0mjb_DqSRqckHJJaE95wg How to chill the process so that no-one will want any part of guaranteeing bail for a Republican in the future. 😒 Because we all know why the media want this information and what this information will likely be used for.
  16. So, just to be clear, the parent team of this Wrexham ex-player and retired player seven-a-side team only just got promoted to the English fourth tier of football. So these aren’t well-known has-beens, these are never-really-weres. Against ex-USWNT players. 🤔 Don’t get me wrong, women’s football is currently on the rise, especially in the UK with the advent of the WSL and the injection of cash into the game. The relative skill level is there, and the matches can be absorbing and exciting to watch. Plus, the cynicism of men’s football is mostly absent, which makes a refreshing change. Just don’t mix the two.
