    anyone got an SSN number...what are those requirements we need to submit to the local office. will appreciate ur feedback guys, thanks !

      Get your SSN 2 weeks after you arrived in US. Bring your passport with you. After you get married (if your I-94 is still valid) amend it asap to your married name. In that way, you could work as soon as you get your EAD without waiting for your GC since some SS office require your GC to be presented when you are updating it to your married name. I did the same way, and I was able to work 2 days after I received my EAD.

      @ Lyn..If your wedding is soon, just get your SSN after your wedding..or else if you get it now(with your maiden name), after your wedding, you need to change your last name again for your SSN..enjoy your new life!! be blessed!!

      ok thanks dear for the additional info. wil going to the local office here on thursday to apply for my ssn then proceed to our next step apply for marraige lic. good bless & advance happy trip to u welcome to US soonn.
