  1. Oh Come On!!! You can't be serious as to the way you were treated at the USCIS Office at Boston's JFK Building.. I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that a person could or would risk losing their well paying extremely easy job for disrespecting, accussing, belittling, embarrassing, and harrassing a client whom they have no idea who they are. You must have or get this persons name as my wife will be going to the same office in the next few months for her interview which I will be attending with her and if indeed this rude arogant person exists and she gets him as the interviewer and he even attempts in the slightest way to mistreat her like you say he did you then I can assure you it will be the last human being he ever has contact with as I will be the last person he ever sees on GOD's green earth. And I promise you that. I keep my promises.

My interview didn't go so well and I left the Boston JFK Building frazzled and upset. I felt my interviewer was sarcastic and rude. I forgot his name ...I want to say his last name was Mendez or Rodriguez. He sat by a cubicle facing the window close to the door where you enter.

He asked where and how I met my husband. I gave him the answer. He asked what I did for a living. I named my employer, which is fairly recognizable. He dismissively said he never heard of it. Then he asked why I live and work here in Boston when my employer is headquartered elsewhere in the state. I explained I was a satellite office. He suspiciously asked why they needed a satellite office in Boston. I said things happen in Boston that are relevant to other parts of the state. He took issue with this and seemed suspicious.

We went into the 6 questions pretty quickly:

    1) What's the ocean on the west coast?

    2) What happened on 9/11?

    3) What do the thirteen stripes represent?

    4) What is the rule of law?

    5) How old do citizens have to be to vote for the president?

I forgot what the sixth question was. I answered them correctly. He didn't ask me to read a phrase, he just handed me a pen and asked me to write "There are one hundred senators."

He asked what my husband does for a living. I said he's a student. He asked for my tax forms. I handed them to him and he questioned why I didn't file jointly with my husband. I said it's because he is a dependent of his family. He asked how old he was and why I wasn't supporting him. Again, I said he receives money from his family. While asking me these questions he was curt, suspicious, and judgmental.

He commented that I leave the country a lot. I said that is true, I visit my family about 5-11 times a year on holiday weekends (They live across the border in Canada, so it's not far away). He asked if I had left since filing. I said yes, I had left Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving and Christmas. He told me to write it down on a paper. I asked if I could see what the last departure in 2012 I had written down was. He seemed annoyed. After I asked again, he handed me the application and I saw that I had already written that I had left Labor Day Weekend, so I wrote down that I left during Thanksgiving and Christmas. He questioned why I didn't write down that I had left Labor Day Weekend. I explained to him that I had already written that down on the application. He seemed annoyed, distrustful and suspicious again.

He started asking me other questions. Do you support communism? No. Have you ever been arrested/detained? No. Are you a spy? No. He scoffed and said "Not yet?" -- which I felt was inappropriate. I slightly balked and felt uncomfortable when he asked if I would bear arms and fight for the country. Me, bear arms? I hesitated somewhat incredulous, but I said yes.

He ended the interview and said I travel out of the country too much and it will have to be reviewed. I was flabbergasted. I said I only leave maybe once a month or once every other month for 2-3 days at a time. He said that I wasn't allowed to leave more that half a year at a time. I said I've never been gone that long, that my days out of the country would _definitely_ not amount to that. He looked at me like I was wrong and asked "Definitely?" "Yes, definitely," I said.

He asked me to leave and said I would get an answer in a couple of weeks.

I was frazzled. I had papers scattered around me. I began collecting them and he asked me to hurry up and leave.

Altogether, I felt like I was being interrogated like a criminal. He made me feel like it was a crime to visit my family (at most) once a month on weekends. He was rude, sarcastic and altogether unpleasant. I hope no one else has an experience like I did!

  2. OK it's official. We recieved multiple e-mails yesterday morning stating that my wife's card was ordered and we should receive it within 30 days but everyone that received their card knows that already. My Congressman's office e-mailed me an hour later informing me of the same e-mail they received in reference to my wife's case file and card production. So it took all of 13 months, lets hope the card comes now. N-400 Citizenship next and hoping it will go a lot smoother. Thanks to everyone for the support and allowing me to vent my frustrations here and we will make an announcement when we actually have the card in hand.

Congrats nikki-1980 and TimandJoyce  !! Updating approvals :)

And updating jonoger1984's card received date :)

  3. Dear Pigbelk,

Thank you for contacting your local congress office in regards to your immigration petition. We will be looking into the status of your case in the next few months (possibly years). If you do not hear anything within the next 362 days please contact us via telephone toll free on 1-800-273-8255. Please be able to provide your name, address and telephone number.

We look forward to helping you in the somewhat near future. Have a wonderful life and try not to worry too much about your current situation (because were sure not!).

    regards... your congressman.

You got it, you hit the nail right on the head. They''ll tell me information that I already know. Senators John Kerry and Scott brown haven't even responded back aside from an automated e-mail like USCIS have. Even that says do not reply lol. My wife and I are fine with her being an illegal like 85% of Massachusetts. Here if you do what's right and legal, you are a minority lol

  4. card received with little welcome booklet.

1 year and 10 days since they received my original i751. vsc you suck!!!

glad its over now. put this ####### behind me now..

HAHAHAHA They sure do suck! 1 year and 6 days for me so far and was just told by my Congressman that my wife's case file was sent to a Adjudicating Officer. Who knows we might get a decision before years end, of 2013 that is. Cheers

  5. Hi. I am a December filler. Fot those of you who are still waiting and did not receive any RFE or interview date, did u call USCIS office to make a request? My case is also over processing times and I know that November fillers should have all been approved by now.

I am worried and thinking that maybe they misplaced the cases or something. I know someone in the same situation. She called and office and she was told that her greencard has been send for a long time and probably was lost on its way...

They send a new card right away. It just feels weard that after so much time we didn`t get any news since NOA. They are processing March right now, even if it shows January.

    Worrying...

Yea I filed for my wife back on November 18th 2011 and all we got was the biometrics appointment and then nothing more for better than a year now. Called numerous times and put in 4 service requests after the first 3 went unanswered and no reply. I now have another e-mail address besides the regular VSC one which is special operations and now am waiting again, this time 21 days. I got my 2 congressmen and 2 senators involved also and wrote too the President twice without a reply just an automated confirmation. Last time I called on last Friday the guy who I was transferred too wouldn't tell me his name and had the worse accent i ever heard from a Filipino and he asked my wife about 20 questions before he allowed me to talk to him. He was beyond rude and even stated to me," I know your married to a Fillipina". I replied "What is that suppossed to mean? What are you trying to say guy?" He said nothing and I asked again his name and he hung up. I called back again and waited another 15 minutes or so and got a another young man that was very helpful and he stated that the reason it takes so long for certain people is that they are usually waiting for the background check information to come back. Especially the Philippines he said, even though they have the information from the original background check conducted before the first VISA was issued. I kind of believe him seeing it took so long, almost 3 years for me to get my wife here that I ended up living, working and having children in the Philippines before she was granted her Visa.

  6. I know no one whoever is still on the waiting list wud be able to relax. But do u have to talk so sharp?

U r not the only Nov filer. U r not the only one whoz waiting here.

No matter under what kind of scenario, we r all waiting here.

Nobody knows getting a RFE is better than getting nothing or not.

I am not asking u when shud be my turn. U don't have to be so aggressive with me either.

pfffffffff hahahahaha :ot2::bonk::dance::blink::wacko::wow::lol::rofl:   How's that? Better?

  7. Well, by the time you're filing the I-751 you should have at least 2 tax returns, unless you AOS'd very early in the year, I think.. Are all of the tax returns "married filing separate;y" or just one?

The first tax return I did after getting married was married filing separately, because that was the last year her parents could claim her as a dependant. The next two have been married filing jointly. It wasn't a problem for my RoC at all - I was approved in less than 5 months (CSC) with no interview.

I wouldn't expect it to be a problem for you. The worst case scenario is that the interviewer may ask you about it if you have an interview which, all other things being equal, is pretty unlikely. And as long as you have a reasonably significant amount of evidence showing other forms of financial co-mingling, and as long as you include some unambiguous evidence of cohabitation, you should be fine.

The important thing is that you did file as married. If you'd filed as single USCIS would be very curious about that.

Also, this is the sort of question that gets more, better, and quicker answers if you post it in the top level forum, instead of burying it in a year-old progress thread that wouldn't even have anyone reading it if VSC hadn't [apparently] gone and lost a box or truck full of last November's RoC applications.

Well apparently my wife's case file was in that truck or box that went missing or was lost or thrown out carelessly because I crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's upon submitting it to them way back in November of 2011 and still till this day we haven't heard a peep from them and are being told once again upon calling them numerous times to "Please wait and be patient yet for another 60 days which is now going to be November 18th 2012. That will be the 1 year date that they recieved our case file. In the meantime my wife has been here in US of A for nearly 3 years and we passed 5 years of marriage and 4 years since the birth of our lving and beautiful daughter. The stress related to waiting months past the normal processing time is taking it's toll on us and no one on the other end of the phone seems to care or know the resolution and that includes both of my Massachusetts Senators and their staff. Totally unacceptable half-assed backwards system. Myself being born and raised here in Boston, I am ashamed as an American as too how they choose to handle ours and others personal documents in such a careless fashion and give you no recourse to hold them responsible for putting peoples lives on hold for a year but cash the check immediately. Thank You for allowing me to vent my frustrations here to those who have been rung through the ringer like my family has still without resolution a year later and light at the end of the tunnel still. It seems when you do things legally and correctly in their eyes you are penalized and delayed and when you cut cornes and do things illegally you are given the green light and almost encouraged to do it that way to get it done faster. Grrrrrrrrrrr

  8. Nicely said Mr jogner I agree with you to it's seems like a black hole in the universe with no end but just hope. Any how I went to my senators office and they ask me if I got one year extension letter and they told me to come back when I crossed a year mark and when I went back they did the inquiry and I was given same answer the one I got from immigration when I did service request . But may be your senator office is kind enough to help you.Good luck

Wow that's the response I got also. I am in Massachusetts and there is a chance we went too or talked to the same Senator or his so called staff.. John Kerry?

  9. Yup been there done that. It's like Groundhog Day all over and over again. Good luck to you and me both coz we're gonna need it.

Just called the service center yet once again and recieved the same response about my wife's case. Wait until November 18th for a decision because it hasn't been 60 days yet since the service request was entered. I asked what the next step was when I don't get a decision by that date (which I truely believe we won't) and she said to just call back at that point and we can find out what to do then. Hahaha , I said ok you been a great help and a wealth of information to us. Talk to you soon! lol

  10. Ok i just got off the phone to uscis call center. My 15 days has expired the girl there basically said thats all they can do and that i should email the vermont email address listed on the website. After you email please wait 21 days... Oh another 21 days??? is that all??? As soon as i finish writing on this forum im googling how to set up email software. Im going to leave my pc on day and night sending the same request email every 60 minutes until they get back to me.

Yup been there done that. It's like Groundhog Day all over and over again. Good luck to you and me both coz we're gonna need it.

  11. They can't do much at all.

I called last week and all the person could do was to send a 2nd service request to VSC.

Once again, not holding my breath.

If they said they were sending in another service request, THEY ARE LYING TO YOU!, plain and simple. Only one service request is allowed per case until the first service request issue has been resolved. I got that from not only a supervisor but a manger alsoupon me asking for a 2nd requset.

  12. the call center dont have a clue. after they said "we will submit an inquiry and you will get a response in 15 days" there done.. they dont know whats going on. there really great at reading your online status tho...

Exactly! They give you the same information which we see on line and think they did us a favor when in fact they leave you right where you started and end up getting nothing accomplished except for higher blood pressure and stress.

  13. has anyone done the n400 before receiving the greencard?

I'm not sure if that's even possible. I am sure you can get everything in order and ready but actually submitting it all might not be well advised until you actually recieve the new 10 year Green Card in case they need a copy of it or if the number changes or something to that effect. Just sayin.... But I definitely hear where your coming from and getting the ball rolling as soon as possible seeing what we have had to go through to this point without even recieving a yes/ no or otherwise.

  14. For those who received their cards, do you have to sign for the mail or they just drop it in your mailbox?

Your new Green Card will be delivered by regular USPS and dropped in your mailbox with no signing required and for anyone to take if you don't have a lock or get your mail right away. They ask us to send our documents return reciept requested and insured to make us spend more and then take the cheap unreliable route to give the card. Assbackwards IMOP.

  15. i made the same call a week last friday. 15 days should be this saturday for me.. Im not holding my breath either.. its #######

I have also been informed that once a case worker starts to handle a case, that they are the only ones to handle it from that point forward regardless if they go on vacation, sick or medical leave and that it might be the reason for the delay. We might all have the same unreliable person handling all of our cases and that they are just sitting there gathering dust on being buried under newer fresher cases and files.

  16. I called last week, was told that my case is outside the normal processing time and that they were contacting VSC about my case.

Apparently I should hear something within 15 days

Not holding my breath at this point

I called a month ago and they told me the same thing. When I didn't hear anything in 15 days I called back and asked what's going on , and was told that they sent me an e-mail informing me that I would have a decision on or before November 18th. I asked what year 2012 or 2013 . I told them I never recieved their e-mail and if they could resend it and was told they could not after asking to speak to a supervisor and manager I was told no over and over that they could not resend the e-mail; and they could read it to me only. I was like #######? that doesn't make a bit of sense at all and was told that is the policy and they can't break the rules. I told them they broke the rules by going in December's cases and forgetting about those in November still waiting to hear a decision and also what happened to US Postal Mail to send me information and why all of a sudden e-mail? It's because they never sent the e-mail and I am 100% sure of that coz I check my e-mails daily inbox and spam and never saw anything at all.

  17. I called the helpline on friday. They guy on the phone said "looks like your outside the normal processing time for the i751 as there now processing november 28th". I said thats great man. Can we speed this up a bit? said he was doing some out of time request or something and that i should hear back within 15 days. Kick ####.. more waiting..

All i have to say is.. USCIS you charge a small fortune for your forms.. HIRE MORE STAFF!!!

Made the same call 2 weeks ago and still have heard nothing! All I know is that it is taking a toll on me and my health with the added stress of hearing nothing.

  18. Hi Zrntl, I am still waiting , no news for me. good luck with RFE.

Are there november fillers still pending to hear any news?

Yes I am still waiting also for my wife's approval. I checked today and they were working on November 28,2011 cases which makes my wife's case 10 days late(11/18/2011). I called and spoke with a nice woman who looked into it for me and said it could be 30 days before or after the date posted on their website as far as the cases they are working on. She took a whole bunch of info from me and also asked to speak to my wife and then gave us a call back reference number to use when VSC calls us back within 15 days with our updated status. She also said no news is good news and please be patient as their workload is overwhelming. I hope this news helps others who are waiting. I also asked why some people have been approved with dates filed later than ours and she responded it "depended on the case worker handling your case, some are quicker or more efficient than others and some case workers have much more experience handling cases than those who are newly hired. In my honest opinion, I am getting the feeling that they might be sub contracting some of the cases out to non government employees who are crossing all the T's and dotting all the i's, and can't afford to make any mistakes in order to keep the contract. Just saying....

  19. I am still waiting. Can't believe it will take so so long. Anyone knows where to complain? :)

Complain? I think venting your frustrations here is your best bet seeing that if you call anyone at Immigration your file might up at the end of the pile, if not lost or you might get a RFE instead of a Green card. Just sayin.... As frustrating it is too wait, you just need to be patient and pray for good news to follow soon. That's just me. You can do as you wish. Please let us know what they say when you call and complain, as it would be interesting to hear what they have to say.
