thanks for the replies.
what about the NBI clearances? Do i have to send 2 (with maiden name and married name) clearances or 1 (with married name) will suffice.
-
did you send two NBI clearances? the one in maiden name and the other in married name?
I'm assuming i only need to submit the one in my married name since the clearance will include my maiden name.

Hi, to anyone who went through the CR1/IR1 process, please let me know if I'm missing something.
1. Cover sheet
2. Certified copy (NSO copy) of birth certificate
3. Photocopy of Birth Certificate
4. Certified copy (NSO copy) of marriage certificate
5. Photocopy of marriage certificate
6. Photocopy of passport
7. NBI clearance in married name
8. NBI clearance in maiden name
9. photocopies of the NBI clearances
10. 2 pcs. of 2x2 colored photos with name and NVC number at the back
Questions:
Should I bring another set of this for my interview or will the US embassy in Manila use the packet I sent to NVC?
What else should I bring to the interview? I know that I should bring documents that will prove we're married like joint bank accounts, joint lease contracts, pictures etc.
Thanks in advance!

DONT FORGET TO BRING THE AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT.....Goodluck..........
So we have to accomplish the AOS forms twice? The first set is for NVC and the second is for my interview?

Hi everyone!
I've tried calling NVC to give them our email addresses for the DS3032 kit. For some reason, NVC phones hear nothing. Agents keep on hanging up on me because they can't hear me. I tried calling 8 times on 3 different dates.
Anyway, i send them an email last week. I copied LingChe's template which is:
Subject: <NVC Case Number - Beneficiaries Name>
NVC Case No: <NVC Case Number>
CIS Case No: <USCIS Case Number> or <NOA Receipt Number>
Petitioner's Name: <Petitioner's Name LAST FIRST MI>
Petitioner's Date of Birth: <MONTH DD, YYYY> i.e. January 01, 1951
Beneficiary's Name: <Beneficiary's Name LAST FIRST MI>
Beneficiary's Date of Birth: <MONTH DD, YYYY> i.e. January 01, 1951

To everyone who send their through email. How did you do it? Should I attach the form with a barcode? Thanks!

i read from http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police that:
If the applicant lived in a different country for more than 12 months and was 16 years or older at that time the the applicant should get a police clearance from the police authorities of that locality.

Do I really need to get a Police clearance from Abu Dhabi?
I lived in Abu Dhabi for exactly 11 months and 2 days. Some people say one needs it if the stay was for more than 6 months. some say it's for a year and above. what gives? if possible, please provide a link to where you found the info.
Btw, I'm now in the Philippines. I'd appreciate if anyone from here who went through the same thing can reply.
-
So you are on the CR1 or IR1 visa path, not K3. When was the I-129F filed? Why was it rejected?
They rejected the I129f because our I130 petition is no longer pending.

how far along is your wife?
based on my experience as a flight attendant, your wife can still fly until her 8th month given that you have a doctor's certificate giving your wife permission to fly and the pregnancy is normal. things that have to be taken into consideration are: if it's single or multiple pregnancy and also the flight. i'm assuming it's a long haul flight from india. check with your airline.

According to http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3207.html
The U.S. Domicile Requirement for Petitioners
Your petitioner must live in the United States or in a U.S. territory or possession. If your petitioner does not, he or she cannot sponsor you for immigration to the United States.
You must convince the consular officer that your petitioner lives in the United States. To do this, you may provide the following:
A photograph of your petitioner holding a recent newspaper while at a location that clearly is in the United States (such as a U.S. Post Office);
current mortgage or bank statements showing your petitioner’s U.S. address;
certificates of employment, pay stubs, or utility bills in your petitioner’s name (phone, power, water, cable, Internet, etc.).
If your petitioner currently is not in the United States, and he/she is a U.S. citizen, he/she should provide a letter of intent to return with you to the United States. Petitioners who are legal permanent residents must be physically present in the United States.
Last Update ::03/22/2010
My husband (the US citizen) is currently in the Philippines so I think we'll just do the letter of intent to return. Has anyone done this before? My husband refuses to leave the country without me. I already feel bad for him because he misses home badly and the only reason he's in PI is me.
As for the choice of agent, can we just appoint my mother-in-law since she is the one residing in the States and also my co-sponsor in the AOS?

Check the embassy site: http://riyadh.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html
I dont know about Saudi Arabia, but in the Philippines they only send what is considered packet 4...the interview appointment letter and a DS-230.
go through that link..it has forms and information on what forms and documents are needed.
Hi,
I just got my NOA2 on April 27th. What's the next step? Should I just wait for the package? When should I call NVC?
Btw, congrats! You will finally be with your maybahay again
-
Hi,
i'd just like to know how your applications went.
as for mine,
February 16, 2010 - Date of Receipt of petition (NOA1)
April 21, 2010 - NOA2. Approved petition
April 27, 2010 - received NOA2 in mail.
I asked my MIL what happened to the I129f she sent, she said it was rejected.
I really don't know what's happening because everything goes through my in-laws because hubby and I are in PI.
-
thanks very mucu for your replies. it's actually my mom-in-law who sends out the paperwork because my husband, kid and i are all here in the philippines. we initially asked her to send the I129-f but she decided not to because she thought there was a $455 fee (which was for fiancee visas only) and because she called the this hotline and the rep told her that they stopped issuing k3 visa and should just pursue the the immigrant visa.
okay.
we called her yesterday to greet them a Happy Easter, and she told my hubby that she already sent the I129f. So there...I guess we'll really find out how the NEW process is. We'll have 2 scenarios, mine, with which I129f was sent and rvince's who didnt.
Goodluck!

Important Notice:
Effective February 1st, 2010, when both the I-129F petition for a nonimmigrant K visa and the I-130 petition for an IR-1 (or CR-1) spouse of a U.S. citizen visa have been approved by USCIS and sent to the National Visa Center (NVC), the availability as well as the need for a nonimmigrant K-3 visa ends. If the NVC receives both petitions:
What does this mean? Is this bad or good news? USCIS received my I-130 March 6th and cashed the check March 12th. Will this new process make things faster or slower?
hello rvince. we are on the same boat. we sent our I130 hoping for a K3 visa. We already have our NOA1 and undecided if we should still send out the K3. I called the Visa hotline the other day. I asked if sending the I129-f would slow down the process, she said no. And it doesn't matter when those 2 are approved. As long as the I129-f catch up with I130 in USCIS, they will be sent together to NVC. The girl asked me to call USCIS to confirm.
The USCIS girl had to put me on hold to find out what I was talking about. She said I can still send the I129-f if i want to. It's like taking your chance. If that gets approved sooner than the I130, k3 visa is still possible. Honestly, until now, I'm still confused.
