    N-400 January 2010 Applicants....

    I called FBI a few days ago and found out that my 2nd fingerprinting has been rejected again because they cannot read it (quality issue). On my own accord, I walked in to the biometrics center again (for the 3rd time) yesterday to try to see if I can get my fingerprint done. However, I was declined and was asked to wait for instructions from USCIS.

    My interview is scheduled on April 14. I was planning to get a police clearance letter from NYC police headquarters. I also need one from California. However, when I checked out the NY police website, it seems that I would need a letter from USCIS requesting for the clearance letter.

    I also called the USCIS customer service line, as usual, no useful information given.

    Question:

    1. Should I go ahead and get all my police clearance letters, without the USCIS letter? (Would probably cost my a few hundred bucks anyway..)

    2. Have anyone has similar experience or heard of situations like this?

    3. Any advice is appreciated!!

    I just received my 2nd fingerprinting appointment notice today:

    "The FBI was unable to process your fingerprint card. In order for the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services to continue processing your application, it will be necessary to have your fingerprints re-taken. This will be completed at no additional expense to you."

    When I did my fingerprint 2 weeks ago, I already had the 'uneasy' feeling. Due to the snowy weather, my hands were kinda dry. When I was about to put on some lotion, the technician stopped me. I should have just applied the lotion earlier. True enough, my prints were kinda blurry with lots of 'horizontal ridges' (micro cuts on my fingers). And now, I have to redo it.

    Another thing to note is that this letter was not reflected on the my case status update online.

    Does anyone know if this will delay the application process? I was checking my timeline with the rest of Jan Applicants, I think I'm falling behind.....

    I am going to walk in for the fingerprinting tomorrow. (even though the new appointment date is Mar 16, which is one month after my first fingerprinting.)
