Do I have provide some sort of proof for having no income / below threshold ? -
I am the petitioner and sponsoring my foreign spouse who works abroad. We have been living abroad since we got married about 4 years ago. I did not work during this time but my husband did work. I have also not filed tax returns for these last 4 years. We are in the process of providing civil and support documents to NVC. When filling out the I-864 should I just state that I have not filed returns because I didn’t work (stay at home) and that our income was below the threshold? I’m not using my foreign spouse’s income. We have a joint sponsor. Joint sponsor plans to complete I-864.
