Good luck on the upcoming birth kimbear.
I have a question do you ladies remember who is was that drove back to cnada to long ago?
And are you ladies still doing your Canadian income taxes?
I'm working on the outland process to get the hubby to canada and my US citzenship at the sane time

Dylan and I applied for our 10 year green cards in Aug 2012, I applied to change Dylans name a few months back and received Our greencards In July. Yesterday the Court order came in the mail for his change of name (YAY). However now I am in the predicament of figuring out what I need to change etc. (custody order and all )
So Do I send an I90 to change his greencard now? Or do I wait as I am going to apply for citizenship next month and then he would be a US citizen under me and not need a greencard?
I mean do I have to change his greencard right at the moment? I wont have his Canadian passport or Birth certificate in the "correct" name for at least a few months.
One headache goes a way and it seems the next is here.
Any advice? or Ideas? or experience

You ladies could go with sleep sacks or swaddles. I had levi in swaddles for the first few months, they look like little burritos lol.

Received a letter from the Newark, NJ office of USCIS responding to our service request. Looks like we are in for an interview.
My wife is gonna freak out because she desperately wanted to avoid another interview. Not sure why it took so long, from May 6 until July 22 (2.5 months), for them to transfer our case from the VSC to Newark and why no one said anything to us until we asked for a service request, but I guess we can't really do anything about it. 
The letter says "Your petition/application is still pending consideration and has been relocated from the Vermont Service Center to the Newark Field Office for interviewing and processing. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application."
Awe I'm so sorry to hear that, I think sometimes they need that device request for them to get back on track.
I hope your interview date comes quick and that it's over soon. Best of luck

Congrats, Canadiandggal! FYI, you didn't update the total number for Vermont to 24 of 31 applicants approved.
I was just curious what made you call USCIS so soon, since you'd only responded to the RFE on 6-12, a little more than 30 days earlier? I wish we would have called sooner, but we thought we had to wait 60 days.
Simply because we had been well over the usual timeline. I actually called just to talk and see if they had any information, the rep told me we could file a service request so I did.

I applied for I751 in august 2013,
did my biometrics in Sept 2012,
May 2013 was told new fingerprints were needed
June 2013 sent in fingerprints.
July 11th 2013 called to see why it was taking so long .
Today I revieced an email referencing my phone call on Friday saying my greencard was in production now. So five weeks since I sent my new prints to my approval

Hi there, thanks for your quick response. I just want to make sure I understand what happened with you....you mean you were approved within 5 weeks of submitting your I-751 and your first set of fingerprints.......but never knew about it and instead got another notice to get your biometrics done

Hi everyone,
We applied for removal of conditions (I-751) in late January 2013, and within days got an NOA Extension letter for 1 year. Then I went to get my biometrics done in mid-February 2013 I haven't heard from USCIS since, but I knew my fingerprints had failed, as they sometimes do at the USCIS (surprisingly not at other departments).
Now- 5 months after my last biometrics appointment I received an NOA to go back for a 2nd biometrics appointment in mid-August. Has anyone been through this during their removal of conditions ?
We have planned travels to see my family in October, and I'm worried that if they require us to come in for an interview we'll miss it. I'm curious if others had to wait this long for a 2nd biometrics appointment, and if so how much longer did you wait for your interview or green card ?

Find yourself lucky, I waited 9 months before i got a RFE for new fingerprints except instead of a new Bio appointment they made me go get one from my local fingerprint place (50 dollars later).
I just put in a service request on friday and it seems I was approved after 5 weeks.

Getting really nervous now. We responded to our RFE on May 4, 2013 and haven't heard a word since.
In fact, there's been almost no activity for August filers at the Vermont Service Center since early May, with the exception of a single person whose ROC was accepted.We just made flight arrangements to go back to the Philippines, which is exciting since my wife Karen hasn't been back in the 3 years since she's been in the US. But now we're getting a little worried that we may not have a new green card by then. Not only that, but the I-757 was issued in November 2012 and only extends the green card for 1 year. Will USCIS give us a problem letting Karen re-enter the country when we come back on Nov. 25 with only her green card and the I-757?
I did a service request on Friday and got a responce today via email. However nothing has updated, both USCIS phone and Website still say that im in initial processing so we will see if it's true

Dumb Question but does the letter you get ( noa1) extend your greencard for a year or does it extend it from the noa1 date?
Like I filed Aug 20th 2012 but my greedcard expired on October 31 2012
So would it be October 31 2013? I have a trip coming up on october 10th-16th and if I don't have my greencard by then I'm not sure whether to go get a stamp or wing it .

If you originally filed July 2012, it's already been a year, which means there are a couple of things you can do:
1) You can contact USCIS and file a service request because you are officially way beyond their normal processing times.
2) This also means you have now been a legal permanent resident for more or less 3 years. So your window for citizenship must have already opened or will be opening soon (you can apply for citizenship as early as 90 days before your 3rd anniversary of residency - assuming you are still married to your USC spouse and are otherwise eligible). Many people have done that, even though they had a pending I-751. Because you need to be approved for removal of conditions before they can process you for citizenship, that forces them to look at your I-751 petition and make a decision quickly. Most often this decision is an approval of ROC, and then they proceed to processing the citizenship petition which takes much shorter, usually 3-4 months start to finish. Many VJ members have done that when they were in your situation. It's an almost sure bet to speed things up and it seems to work every time. Of course if you're not interested in becoming a citizen or if you're not prepared to spend the hefty $680 fee at this point, then this may not be an option.
Also, if your one year extension letter is about to expire, be sure to make an InfoPass appointment to have your passport stamped, so that you can have proof of your legal status in the country.

I am trying to figure out which route to go. When I contacted the police, they said they have nothing for me and that all info has been destroyed. thanks for this input. I guess I should put forth this info. Will i get denied?
You need to contact the courthouse (that you were charged at) not the police. there has to be a record of what you were charged with etc. If all the records have been "destroyed" then the courthouse will write you a fantasy letter stating so and what you were charged with.

Oh yea we will get the medical done in canada I looked up the list of doctors in canada there are more choices then when I moved to the states. I am getting so excited. We are starting the process to get the police certificate on monday. Then of course we already have the marroage certificate so we will be ready then we can start the process as soon as we get back to edmonton!!!! The thought of being back home makes me so happy. I really never liked it here especially with my hubby having no family here
let us know how your travel and border crossing goes. we are starting the outland process sometime in July (crosses fingers). I cant wait to be back in canada by next summer ..

Hi everyone,
We received a RFE today for police clearances because my wife's fingerprints were unreadable... The same thing happened at AOS.
I anticipated this already, so we got a police clearance in April from the city police department of where we live now as well as the California state department of justice. I also had a police clearance letter from 2011 from the two other cities we lived in California. We never lived or returned there since the date on those letters.
Can we go ahead and submit these documents or is there going to be an issue because the date of the police clearances isn't current?

I just did sent in my RFE last week. I would say that the police check from april should still be good as long as it is statewide.
If yours reads like mine did, I sent in a cover letter, the notice of evidence,a affidavit stating no criminal history, and the state criminal check.

Kimbear. I'm so sorry . The best thing you can do is rest and get yourself better so that you can be 100 for when she needs you . Nciu is the best place for her and I am sure they are taking great Care of her. Hang in there momma
