  1. I completely agree...lol And I just read a denial out of CASA with a couple who thought there would be no problems...sent tons of evidence & the interviewer said they didn't like their packet...now i'm kinda freakin out...what didn't they like??? ugg And we r just getting started...hopefully I can relax some about it once I get back to morocco...53 days left till we r back together.

I have read some stories similar on here too. Luckily our of Sydney there have only been good stories thus far...fingers crossed it goes smoothly. We front loaded our petition with some of the evidence, (like photos, boarding passed etc) and I have a binder file here that I have indexed our evidence in. Being patient & calm on the day of interview is the key as well as having all our paperwork in order...still doesnt make the time pass any quicker & the stories gone wrong on here dont ease our minds any.

  2. I have been reading this off & on all morning here. Surely the OP would have some kind of vague recollection of where they married even being 20+ years ago? We had to submit copies of BOTH our divorce decrees for the I129F petition as we had both been married twice before. Somebody in your family may have recollection of where the marriage took place & you could then search the records office there.

As Vanessa said, lying will only make it worse. I would call USCIS and ask them how you would go about the process from here. Social networking sites suck as Facebook, myspace etc are great resources for finding people.

  3. How r ppl knowing their application is touched before recieving the NOA1 hardcopy?? Or have dates prior to receiving the hardcopy? Is there a way to see it before receiving your case #??? Thanks & hope all is going good for everyone :)

    Monica

The only way you can see the status of your case is by using the case number on the NOA1 OR on the back of the check sometimes you will see a WAC followed by numbers...this is your case number. You then have to register on the USCIS website.

I spend so much time refreshing the page there willing them to start on our cases...I will send myself nuts I am sure checking the site every day  Am I the only December CSC filer who does this? Hoping for that small miracle to say NOA2!

  4. A December filer here...was just peaking in to see how you were all going & after reading (and choking on my water mind you) I see I am not the only ####### retentive perfectionist here! I had my fiance label every single thing just as I asked before he filed the petition! I wanted the perfect petition so it would breeze through CSC without a hiccup & we could be together. I also check USCIS far tooo often!!

Anyway, just wanted to pop i to wish you all luck..cos once your petitions start getting approved, it means mine isnt far behind!!

Sending positive vibes that the CSC moves faster for us all.

  5. For the money transfers -- why not use PayPal? Eric sends money from his PayPal to my PayPal account & I withdraw it down into my Australian bank account. The fees are minimal...I mean we are talking a couple of dollars. From PayPal to my bank account -- 3 days -- 5 days if around a public holiday. This is the system we will be using once I am stateside to send money to my parents.

  6. I am so with you on the waiting game. We have only been waiting 3 weeks since NOA1 but watching timelines & the amount of 'fiances' based in the Phillipines/Thailand is astounding. It seems the VCS is moving a bit faster then the norm on the timelines and that in itself is frustrating as well.

I asked about the medical being done ahead of time a few weeks back and was told not to because they need the case number from the NVC...in Sydney there are only 2 doctors: Dr Waks & Dr Phillips...I am organizing my police certificate next week, as well as my daughters passport. I need to find out how to get the blood test to find out what immunities I have for vaccines.

The only thing that keeps me going at present is the fact we are lucky to have so much time on web cam with his work schedule (4 nights a week, 2 of which are work from home) The crux of it at present..we are hoping for an approval & a POE by my birthday at the end of April (too much to ask for lol)

  7. Hey December Filers,

We had a wonderful last Christmas here in Australia. Lots of laughs but also lots of tears. I keep watching Igor's hoping to see us move up faster but its only been 3 weeks since NOA1 lol. Yep seriously impatient here.

The holiday season is hard on all of us without the ones we love and the only thing that keeps me going is that next year I will be with Eric & it will be a wonderful life we are building. We keep ourselves occupied looking at paints, tiles etc so we can start to redecorate once I am there..mini projects to pass the time. I move back to my parents at the end of January as my lease expires early February and there is no point renewing it. So I am beginning to clean things out in preparation of them being sold.

Hope you all had a great holiday season...hope to hear from you all soon

  8. After reading all of this I am sitting here in tears...bad day recovering from a migraine does not help in the slightest.

Vanessa I think all that you are feeling is extremely valid & that we all will feel that way at some point once we move stateside. I have started making little changes here already to make the transition easier (if that is possible) My web browsers are set for the US English so that I start spelling things their way and also so my daughter can start to make that distinction too. The way they have different names for things like take out (carry out) shopping trolley (cart) etc does my head in some days but I guess it is also the joy of moving to a new country.

The driving things worries me though the fact I will be driving a 4WD again gives me a little confidence. We will be living on 3 acres outside of town, so whilst that is a little worrisome, I love the fact that we will have room to move & not having to worry about neighbors being right beside us. I can not say I had the bread there or the chocolate while I stayed there in June...but even Eric doesn't like their white bread at all & only eats Italian Bread. I can not get past how a lot of their sweets have peanut butter in them... I mean Reese's Peanut Butter cups, Peanut Butter Choc Chip cookies, Peanut butter ice cream..it is in everything!

There is a website called Mates Up Over that is all Aussies living in the USA. A friend of my mum's gave me the address as he is a Texan who lives here now. It has been an awesome insight & a lot of them have the same concerns as you do Vanessa, and the same ones we all will no doubt...especially the pronunciation of things.

I am relishing in all the last things I will experience here ...though I can say I will not miss this horrible heat we have here...it is oppressive some days & beyond belief. I am looking forward to my last Christmas here with all 4 of my kidlets. They are all sleeping here tomorrow night & we will all wake up together on Christmas morning..I am sure I will be a basket case by the end of the day but I will enjoy every second I have with them. Though not having a winter until I am stateside will be weird to say the least.

If I dont see anyone before hand as I am driving all day tomorrow to pick up my youngest daughter from the Hunter Valley and then back to Sydney again...I hope you all have an amazing Christmas with your loved ones, despite those of us not with our fiance's at this time of year...Eric & I are doing gift opening on web cam with the kids & then he & I will celebrate on the USA Christmas when he gets home from work (sucks he has to work)

*lots of hugs & warm wishes*

  9. Thanks Terri.. He's been gone only a week & I'm struggling with all the emotions that go with it. Bleh. Let's hope it's a long & speedy process for us both!

I can relate totally...Eric left at the beginning of November & I am still struggling to bounce back into some resemblance of normality...kids being of Summer break now does not help...I am not looking forward to Christmas this year at all.

  10. Good luck to those having their interview tomorrow!

Just a random question, does anyone know if there are any restrictions in regards to travelling out of the USA, once the wedding has taken place and I have filled out the paperwork after the wedding. As I was thinking of coming back home (New Zealand - where my family lives) and having a gathering for those family member's that couldnt make it to the wedding. It would be maybe 1 year after the wedding, I dont assume there would be an issue, but wondered if anyone knew the answer

From memory you ahve to apply for Early Parole with AOS. I have to look into the expedited parole due to my son being on the transplant list when I leave..so if a kidney becomes available I want to be on the first flight back to Sydney for him. It is a roll of the dice for that list.

  11. How fantastic Skype is. I can't imagine how it has changed my life, my fiancee says every day we need to thank Skype (except when the internet connection is poor). I take it most of you all would say the same, I'm certainly not independently wealthy enough to afford two hours of overseas calls a night.....

I totally agree!!! We find MSN video calls to be probably a little better then Skype for quality at times but no matter what -- if not for these amazing tools at our disposal (for free!!) our phone bills would be disgustingly HUGE. We are lucky enough wtih Eric's work hours & my Uni hours that we can spend most of our days on web cam talking away...makes things much easier.

  12. Consulate received our updated I134 yesterday, whew. Made my attorney submit a new one with a letter explaining the typos. So fingers crossed all goes well on tuesday.

I am glad your attorney fixed his mistake for you :)

I have been compiling our evidence as well..you girls are right, it really does bring a sense of nostalgia. Going over our old chat logs, emails & looking through our photos from our vacation in New Hampshire...makes a girl teary especially at this time of year when all I want to find Christmas morning is him here in my house.

Sorry all...getting a bit teary today, time to go distract myself in my craft room.
