Potentially good news...my profile was "touched" just today...and it hadn't been "touched" since August. Hopefully soon it will be approved!

Checked the tracking on DHL, my package was delivered today at 10.07 a.m. Weird though, when I called NVC, they said my package was mailed the fourth, but on DHL, no packages were sent to Sydney on the fourth, only the fifth. Oh well, hopefully my boy gets the packet three email tomorrow!
The same thing happened with me. I called the NVC this morning and they told me it was sent out on the 5th. According to DHL nothing was sent on the 4th or 5th. It was sent on the 6th. Now hopefully my girl will have packet 3 in her hands by the beginning of next week.
I did not check your particular countries, but most likely you can Download the packet three and four from the embassy/consulate website, and be finished. Chances are they require a DS-2100 and the DS-230 PartI. there should also be a complete list of what they will expect to see (documents) at the interview. For a few of the documents (police records/ DAS certificates/Bank officer letter for the I-134) if you don't already have them it could take you some time... ie they won't be here by christmas if you don't have them.
We have the Medical exam and fees all taken care of and are waiting on the embassy and snail mail.
Since we already know the embassy has our I-797 approval from NVC; why not just send in your completed packet 3 now... save a week of snail mail time? and get ready for the interview. Unless I am mistaken they make the calendar of interviews the month prior from the DS-2100s received. If received prior to mid month (15 Nov) they will schedule interview mid the next month (Dec 09). if you wait for snail mail correspondence to tell you to send in package three you may be waiting till January for the interview.

As I had thought, like when I found out the petition was approved, it was while I was checking on-line. Our package went in and out of NVC in the same day Nov 3 and is on its way to Colombia. One day Service from the government is great news to me!

anyone call nvc yet?
Posted this somewhere don't know where it went but I'll post here for where I intended for the AUG 2009 CSC filers.
Send both just in case. (I-134 & I-864)?
Heads up all!
Not to cause alarm but I went to the NVC website http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html and at the bottom they declare “Important Note: The NVC cannot accept Form I-134 for immigrant visa processing. The NVC only accepts the appropriate I-864 form(s) listed above.”
I realize this is two separate entities, and two separate forms. I did not send my I-134 with the Petition to USCIS, and I have sent nothing at all to NVC; it goes from USCIS to NVC.
The Embassy/Consulate in Colombia site says they want the I-134 Affidavit of support.
I am sending the I-134 with the package to fiancée for her interview and as a precaution I am also including the I-864 for her to carry just in case they ask for it. Better safe than sorry!
Thoughts? Concerns? or just heads up take your pick!

I called yesturday and Our case has not been received as yet. I got the email approval NOA2 last Thursday? and the hard copy arrived just Monday. From California to NVC... a few days.. sitting in the in-box 1 day, in-processing 1 day; so I figure it should be in the system today or tomorrow and be assigned that last number...
We are so perched and ready it is rediculous. ( we actually filed in Mar 09 and it was lost) All of our paperwork has been waiting to launch at them; in a kind and friendly manner of course. I have been going through the entire package over an over, and I am amazed at all the little things you can overlook that may or may not be needed to be included as evidence.
It's all relative I guess to the person reviewing on the other end.

Keep breathing everyone... It's coming!
Many people may not understand why we have taken this road to happiness...the point is..THEY don't have to. All of us here have that understanding and have no need to ask why! I can only compare this feeling of elation to returns from Milititary deployments. The day she gets of that plane here in Hawaii will be just like that return only the other way around.
Here in Hawaii you get layed upon arrival! Or is that Lei'd. Yeh I think it is supposed to be the second one!

We mailed our packet yesterday to CSC...who else out there will be hopping in line with us?
For those of you that have never seen the “Yippee” dance, it is a sight to behold. But that is what was going on for me here in Hawaii and fiancé in Colombia! We received notification of petition approval for K1 Visa. Originally petitioned in March of 09, the application never made it to the CSC. We re-petitioned Aug 27, 09 with NOA1 Sep 3, 09. Should receive the actual letter in the mail by this Friday 30 Oct 09.
The un-official wait time has been excruciating for us both (Mar 09) the official wait time has been rather quick, and there are no complaints from me on that issue. I was doing the daily on-line status check (package was never “Touched” through the entire process that I could tell, and I was getting nervous) I entered the wrong case number by the last digit and it displayed someone else’s status. That got me thinking… I then proceeded to incorrectly enter other numbers in sequential order 20 before and 20 after my case number and collected the cases in an Excel spreadsheet, then I remove all non K-a Fiancé(e). Of 29 cases pending 2 were denied, 6 with an RFE entry and two approvals, one denial being the case right before ours. This is where I got a little nervous. If they had “touched” all these case before and after mine, why have I heard nothing? Well no news is good news, because if you hear something before approval it is usually due to something being wrong or missing… an RFE/denial is most likely on its way.
Then my blackberry went off. At first I dismissed it because I was busy with something much more important than email, until I saw the case number in the subject line… freakish timing I’ll admit, but at this point the Yippee dance started! It was the Petition Approval case status change notice NOA2 Baby!
For those of you at or around Aug27 petition NOA1 date, stand by… Our time has come!
Good luck everyone!

Hi All, we are getting excited that the possibility of finding out something may be just around the corner. Good luck everybody!

Sorry to say that, from the looks of it, my package has not been touched by Government workers hands.
Found the answere and have the USCIS account already.
-
I have seen posts where people talk about having their package touched, and while this could take off on a litany of humerous comments about getting your "package" touched.
What web site does one get this information? Someone post a link please?

HI All,
New to the thread but have a file (I-129f) receipt date of 3 August. Good luck everyone we are coming up on our window. The adjudication window. This comes after a four month wait while my file was lost, found, lost again.

I had a reply within a week by snail mail, they cashed the check within three days. No real surprise there...check on-line at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis on left side half way down page is "check my status" enter the code on your NOA1 letter for Csase number, poof, like magic it says "received", and my status has not changed since Aug 7th I think. I believe this is known as the three month pergatory!
Good Luck!

Hi All,
I have actually been in the site for a while; never registered. I filed in February 2009 through a "friend" ... a four month waste of time waiting to hear nothing. Filed again in July with NOA1 of 3 Aug 2009.
Reading some of the stories in here is worrisome, motivating, and reassuring all at the same time. I was getting worried that I have heard nothing from “them” at this point I understand that "No" news is good news, in that there are no problems so far.
Adjudication (NOA2) projected on timeline between 28OCT-6 NOV.
Thank you all for your posts, the information is comforting at least knowing there is someone else (many someone else’s) going through the same process (hell), as I am. Strength in numbers I guess. This is like standing in the switchback lines at Disney World waiting to get on the ride. Moving forward like cattle, with anticipation growing with each turn. We have progressed far enough now that we can see people getting on the ride (Space Mountain not Mr. Toads Wild Ride).
Anyway, thanks again for the posts and sharing your story!

Money!
I thought that might get somone's attention.
Can anyone tell me how much money (cheddar, cheese, moolah) an immigrant can bring or transfer to the US upon or shortly after arrival?
On the CF 6059B (Customs entry Declaration form) it mentions $10k. this is not so much a limit as a trigger for an onslought of questioning.
I saw on one web site, and a tax preparer told me that there is no limit (for an immigrant) as slong as it is very well documentedand and from a legal source. I don't think Uncle Sam minds the cabbage coming in, I am afraid he will tax the hell out of it unjustly!
If any one knows, please provide info and resource for information for verification.
Thanks!
Joe
August 2009 CSC filers....
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

The-Sagel, I would not place too much hope on being "touched" our case was never touched... Never! Dates never changed. It could be any number of things, one of your names could be similar to someone else with a petition...many cases have passed through; ultimately approved and was never touched. Many cases from philipines have similar names...think positive and keep working on the forms for the next phase! Stay ahead, look ahead. Always think positive! Good luck! Your time (NOA) is coming soon!
