we met through family. She emailed me first because she got my email address from her uncle which happened to be my step dad ;) At first I didn't want to respond because I thought she's a guy because of her name "shawn" but I soon found out that she's a girl ;) Our first conversation went ok and that starts everything and now we're happily married. Well, not totally because we're still far from each other but we will be together soon. I'm excited for that day to come ;)
