  1. Kata- get there early! Parking is a pain in the you know what... And the line is crazy to check in. Don't know if it will be the same for you but there has to be at least 1000 people here!

Kata ... My husband's oath is tomorrow too but at 7:30 in the morning in LA @ the convention center. We live in OC so we are planning to leave an hour and a half early!

Good luck tomorrow and have fun!!

  2. Hi guys!

Sorry for not updating before. I have been working crazy hours! Well, anyways. I received a letter last week with the appointment for my oath ceremony:

I'm scheduled for tomorrow, september the 27/2013 at 12:10 PM.

That means I have to leave my house at 9:00 AM, to deal with the crazy traffic in L.A.!!! haha!. Husband cannot come with me, so I hope someone in there can take a picture of this once in a lifetime experience!!!

Ok. I will let you know how did it go. If you have any advise, I am more than happy to take it!

To all of you still waiting, the best of lucks. Our journey is almost over!.

    Kata.

  3. Wow that's pretty intense. Maybe personal joint bank accounts?? Can't believe that many pictures wasn't enough! Funny how standards are so different between offices and interviewing officers!

I went for my interview today, it was good, the lady was nice, I was called in 30mins after I got there, I passed the test and she said congratulations, you passed! We went through all the paper work she already got and that was good too and after I signed the passport photos and all the papers she asked me to sign, she took my ID, Passport and Green Card and gave them back to me, I was thinking we were done, lol, we chatted about family issue, brother in-laws, sister in-laws and church pastors generally and her sister is a pastor, we chatted for about 10min and all of a sudden from nowhere, she said Ok, lets finish up, can I see your taxes for the last 3yrs, supporting documents showing you have relationship with your wife, lol, I said Ok, I gave her lease agreement with both names on it, gave her our business account which shows both name on it, she said no, I want the one that shows your home address, really? we have the business together..helloooooo? ok, she said photos, i gave her photos a stack of family photos about 200pics, she said, there are more of church photos here, I need more photos of you and your wife on vacation and more evidence, I said Ok....Finally she said, dont worry about it, just send me more evidence showing you and your wife live together and have a relationship in the mail, you dont have to come back here anymore, I will approve and send your oath letter after I get those evidence from you, Congratulations! lol.....

  5. So hubby had his interview a couple of days ago (Monday 8/12) and I just got a text & email notification that he has been placed in the oath ceremony line!!!

Not sure how long it takes from this point but I guess we just wait to receive a letter?

What a great and busy week for so many :) hope that the good news keeps coming for those waiting :)

  6. Ok so here is the run down... Our appt was at 1:50 and interviewer took him at 2:10. He was done at 2:40.

First she asked for his drivers license which he forgot! Lol so she let it go. Then she asked about 2012 tax returns which I have not filed yet bc I have an extension but I forgot to bring the files extension notice... She said let's continue. Then she went over the questions from the n400 app. Then she asked the birthday of our daughter and we didn't have a Birth cert yet bc she was just born last month so I had her social security card and letter from the hospital and interviewer reviewed those two things. Then she asked my husband what his brthdate is and whether either of us were previously married or had other children. Then she asked how we met. Where we live and if we pay a mortgage. I provided a letter from my family that we live with them. When all that was done: she had him read something which he doesn't remember what he read! Lol she made him write: "we pay taxes" and she asked the following questions:

    1: how many senators

    2: what's border to Mexico

3: what is the ocean on the east coast

    4: what is selective service

    5: date constitution was written

Then she asked for a copy of his passport...

And finally she gave him a white paper saying that he passed!!!!

    Woohoo!!!!

Now I'm just going to wait for an update online!!!

  7. Can I just complain a little: I find it annoying that we have to prepare yet another set of copies with originals if applicable of the same things we sent for the naturalization app to the interview.

I get bringing originals but why do I need to accompany that with another set of copies (per their letter)

Ok I'm done complaining! Yay for his interview... Hoping it goes well tomorrow.

  8. Tell him to tell the interviewer at the time of his interview that he has that condition so that to put the interviewer on notice both in person and on the app. And tell your husband to take his time to answer. When is the interview? My husband goes in on Monday and I'm so nervous for him bc his English is still not that perfect :(

Getting ready for the interview going over everything.

Can anyone who has done the interview please post what the written sentence was & also what they had to read?

My husband is Dyslexic which I did mention on the application that he may need help, he attended a specialist school for high IQ dyslexics but is still very bad & I am concerned now about how he will cope with the reading & written part of the interview?

    Any help or advice appreciated?

  9. Hey! We are at the Santa Ana office too! Hello neighbor ! My husbands interview is next Monday in Santa Ana :)

My Interview letter came in the mail today!!! Woot Woot! The date is September the 3rd. at 12:50 PM. Field Office: Santa Ana, CA. :) Sooo happy!!! Can someone please update???!!! Thank you very much and good luck to you all!!!

  10. Just wanted to say congratulations :) that's great news!

I am so happy to report that we received the case update e-mail this afternoon that my husband was scheduled for his oath ceremony. The letter with the date and time was sent out today!

Thank God!!! This also means that we'll be able to upgrade the F2A petition for me on the day he becomes a USC dancin5hr.gif

For those who may be curious why our N-400 was processed so quickly, my husband had zero issues (no criminal past or any other issues even though he travels a lot for his work) and he is based in Brooklyn, NY. Brooklyn, Queens and other boroughs seem to be processing N-400 interviews/oaths at a much faster clip than for those located in Manhattan.

Once we get the oath ceremony date I'll post it so it can be updated on the table. I wish everyone here a speedy and successful naturalization process!

  11. Hello! Just got the notification that today they sent a letter with our interview date and time!

I'm officially considering myself part of this group as this is the group I have been following :)

    How exciting!

So I should get the letter within the next week... Will update as soon as I get it!

    Happy 4th everyone !
