Brahim and I met when I was volunteering in Morocco in 2006. He was in the US on a J-1 in 2007 and we went through a lot to get the home-residency rule waived (best advice: don't listen to people who say that it's impossible to get a J-1 waiver!). We were finally able to apply for the K-1 in 2008, and things have gone much faster since then. It's been a very long process, but we can finally see the light! Inshallah, we will be together soon.
Still waiting, unfortunately. I wrote the consulate again last week, and they said it was stil in process. I'm hoping we'll hear this week. and if not, I'll call next week. How's adjustment for you guys?
