CFO website - unable to load, receiving 403 error message

Gotcha. We have a time element. We are arriving in the Philippines May 29 and returning June 6 - we anticipate that she will have her visa within a couple of weeks after her April 13 interview. I would rather have her complete the processing in person so she can get both the certificate and the sticker in one visit. -

Yes I am able to see that link. I realize they have options for just completing everything online - Mom is 75, so she is exempted from the seminar - what we are thinking of doing is having her complete the process in person - still need to help her register, though. That is the prerequisite. Unless someone can tell me otherwise. -

I am aware that she needs visa in hand, thanks. Spent time creating checklists for her and I was able to visit CFO website without issues until a week ago. I just worry that the blocking will continue until we are ready to register her, which I don't want. We have the VPN as a back up if it is still blocking us. -
CFO website - unable to load, receiving 403 error message

Up to a week ago, I was able to access the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) website but last Thursday I started getting a 403 Forbidden error message. I have a VPN (which is currently turned off by default because I have a secure WiFi connection), so as an experiment, I tried switching my region from United States to a different country, used HK - and I was able to load the site properly then. Has anyone encountered this? My mom's interview is in April and I am supposed to help her register, so she can obtain her CFO certificate prior to departure. Changing my region is a last resort for me, it would just be helpful to know how I can address this. Thanks. -
You can try, but as someone else mentioned, if SLEC required additional testing, treatment or documentation outside of their two-day (average) process, then no. You will want 1 to 2 weeks between the interview and the medical. LBC Delivery is 5 to 7 business days within Metro Manila. May be quicker if you pick it up at MOA, but that doesn't include the time it takes the Embassy to generate the visa. Once she has completed her interview, she has to turn in her passport. If the Embassy puts her case in 221g administrative processing, once the documentation is available, her passport should be submitted with whatever the Embassy requests. Please consider also she needs to depart the Philippines before her medical exam expires.

That's in the NVC Visa Bulletin. They release updates every month. -

Just wondering: Has your PSA document become available? -
You need to print out the interview date confirmation from CGI to schedule the medical exam. This is ideal. If you don't, SLEC will still accommodate your beneficiary - but the beneficiary will be asked to sign a waiver stating that they understand that the medical exam results expire within 3 to 6 months and SLEC are not liable or at fault if your beneficiary fails to secure an interview date before their medical results expire. Please visit the SLEC website: https://slec.ph/

Your Welcome Letter should have the subject: Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation. Your case number (starts with MNL) and invoice number will be there.

IR-5 Philippines - 1 year and still waiting for interview schedule

In that case you may need to update the I-864 and any documents that have expired. Police clearances are only valid for a short period and 2x2 pictures are only good for 6 months. -

You can try - on the Visa Bulletin, F2A is current.- it is also a matter of available visas for that category, which I believe has a yearly quota. (I could be wrong) -

You can contact NVC to expedite his case. But first - you need to make sure your documents and forms on CEAC are current. Update your I-864 with the most recent tax year (2021) and update the supporting documents (2021 IRS tax transcript, 2022 W2, optionally you can also add 2020 and 2019 IRS tax transcripts and three months of paystubs). Your dad's NBI clearance will also need to be updated (they are only good for a year) as well as his 2x2 photos (those are good for 6 months). If you need to update your DS-260, you need to contact NVC to request them to reopen the form. Once you have made those updates, request the expedite by email NVCExpedite@state.gov NVC will forward your request to the Embassy and they will make the decision - I have no doubt they will approve this - your dad has been in a queue a long time. I joined an FB group of IR5 Visa Journey folks, and many of them are Filipinos who have taken action on their own cases - because in you wait for the Embassy to do the scheduling, you will wait far longer. Hope this helps. -
I-130 forms and Documents

Another way he can go about it is he petitions one parent and then when that parent arrives here, s/he can petition the remaining spouse and kids - then the three of them will all arrive together. -
(Apologies in advance is this has been asked before but after doing a search with quoted and such, the answers I got were about three years old) My mom's case is in the NVC stage. We are just waiting for her NBI clearance with AKA to be released, then we will be ready to submit to NVC for review. At the US Embassy interview, does she need a PSA AOM? When I was reading the pre-interview checklist of USEM, it was included for married applicants, under the heading *Evidence of relationship between petitioner and visa applicant* I could be overthinking this, but I am her petitioner (daughter) and she is my beneficiary (mom), so clearly we are not married. She has only been married to one person, and they were married before I was born. I know she already has a PSA marriage certificate, and I also know (from my own experience) that an AOM will be generated instead of a CENOMAR, if I request one from PSA. Even if I think she doesn't need it I do plan to order one for her to be sent directly to the Embassy once we have a firm interview date - but I have to throw the question out there: Does she need an AOM?
-
If you already have completed the medical exam, you run the risk of remedical - results expire within 3 to 6 months. If you haven't scheduled the medical yet, you can postpone/reschedule for a limited number of times. Not sure of the official number but a cursory search suggests 2 to 4 times. Just keep your case active.

You did good here. Hope you file soon, fees are supposed to go up by March. Make sure you answer the question about which Embassy your mom's case will be processed for immigrant visa. They will email you and your beneficiary a Welcome Letter. That will contain your mom's case number and invoice number, which you will use to create an account on CEAC. That is where all the action happens: you pay the fees and then you will be given access to two sections: one for the Affidavit of Support and the other for the Immigrant Visa. All forms and supporting documents are submitted online only.
-
You can pay separately and complete them separately, that is up to you - like SteveInBoston says, NVC won't review the case until everthing is submitted. Also be aware, in terms of planning: For both AOS and the Immigrant Visa - after you pay the fee, you won't be able to submit anything until the status reads PAID (that's maybe 24 to 48 hours, depending on your bank) AOS - When you add your AOS stuff and a Household Member, neither of you can add supporting documents until the link appears next to your name (another 24 hour wait or so) Immigrant Visa - you won't be able to submit ANY civil documents until the DS-260 has been completed and submitted - I would not recommend attempting to hurry that up, however - you need to review the entire form ro make sure there are no errors - because once the DS-260 and supporting docs are submitted and marked as Accepted, the DS-260 is locked. You can only edit it if you request NVC to unlock the form.

If you have your 2022 1099 (or whatever the equivalent is for a W2 for self employed folks), you can provide her a copy of that, too. Most people wouldn't have filed taxes yet.

Very few people complete it in a single day, but it does happen. Most get done in two days. If day 2 is a day for immunizations, you should be in the clear. That being said, you may want to consider holding off any out of town plans. Some applicants are asked to return for a sputum test (you will know if she gets handed a green piece of paper)...that extends your wait time to 2 more months.
