I came to the US to study in 1997 and moved to Texas in 1999 for another degree. I met my husband there. He was the resident assistant in my dorm (6 years my junior). His first impression of me was that I said hi and ran away from him. We became friends and then gradually our feelings toward each other started to grow.
In 2004, he moved to Virginia for school and I followed him. We decided to get married in 2005 and since then we have been back to Taiwan twice. Once just he and I. The second time my parents-in-law both joined us.
