  1. Not sure about the age of Petitioners. With small children I would have thought younger. Is your Lawyer familiar with the I 864, actually the bigger issue is f her Layer os familiar with the I 864. Hopefully not. I think there is a duty to mitigate but that probably does not help with small children involved.
  2. Ohh I have seen and heard quite a few, from my experience the worst ones are females in their 60's, obviously guessing at age as it would be rude to ask. Now I am not going to share my views and I think they assume I am a Dem? Not sure, anyway I have a deep distrust for Politicians generally.
  3. https://casetext.com/case/kumar-v-kumar-in-re-kumar This is one that is pretty clear, we have had a few on VJ

When someone obtains a green card through family-sponsored immigration, an Affidavit of Support is almost always signed. This document is a contract between the sponsor and U.S. government. By signing the document, the sponsor promises to provide financial support to the immigrant. The immigrant’s right to support under the I-864 is legally enforceable. If a sponsor refuses to fulfill his responsibility, the immigrant may sue in court. We work with I-864 beneficiaries to ensure they receive the support to which they are entitled. We represent clients at zero upfront cost. Our team.
  5. This is interesting, now this guy I have been watching off and on for years, he flies 747s to interesting places, normally freight, and I have never heard him mention anything political. Now a Karen in the back seems worse than an Emu.
  6. There is sopmething on the I 864 about assets you can realise without undue hardship, and selling your only residence is usually considered a hardship.
  7. 10 years? How Long Does My Obligation as a Sponsor Continue? Your obligation to support the immigrants you are sponsoring in this Affidavit of Support will continue until the sponsored immigrant becomes a U.S. citizen, or can be credited with 40 qualifying quarters of work in the United States. Although 40 qualifying quarters of work (credits) generally equates to 10 years of work, in certain cases the work of a spouse or parent adds qualifying quarters. The Social Security Administration can provide information on how to count qualifying quarters (credits) of work. The obligation also ends if you or the sponsored immigrant dies or if the sponsored immigrant ceases to be a lawful permanent resident. Divorce does not end the sponsorship obligation
  8. The card on which an SSN is issued is still not suitable for primary identification as it has no photograph, no physical description, and no birth date. All it does is confirm that a particular number has been issued to a particular name. Instead, a driver's license or state ID card is used as an identification for adults. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Security_number Thinking about it I am not going to swear to the colour, could be blue, OK I need to try and find it. I am a few editions back but I think this is more like it, wonder what was brown. I assume my Employer uses E Verify, now I did not when I was doing I9s.
  9. As I have said as an immigrant I have never shown it to anyone, I think I filed it when I got it so maybe able to find it. I do remember being unimpressed, a small brown card that I could have easily duplicated. Certainly not ID, I would have more success with my Costco card.
  10. Well I renewed my DL earlier this year, not required. Concealed Carry Permit not required. Now the card not the number. The number or the last 4 digits I get asked for. I know SSN is used as a defacto national ID but the card itself could easily be forged.
  11. Are you sure it was not the GC? I recently opened an account nothing was asked I also have had 2 visits to the SS Office and they did not ask. From memory it is just a piece of brown card no security features
  12. looks to me that the Dems have other issues they should concentrate on
  13. The middle one looks to me F2b and the younger F2a but no way of being certain.
  14. Now they do ask for my DL every now and then, scan and email, despite not driving one of their vehicles.
