  1. This was a bit mean as she was so far out of depth it was embarrassing.
  2. This was a Progressive issue some years ago, I think around the time they started using LatinX and upsetting Spanish speakers.
  3. He got his GC through DV not marrying a USC. Certainly a fun case for the interviewer
  4. Maybe ask in the Regional forum about no passport. Best bet will be for DHL to find it.
  5. You mentioned that in your original post Do documents go missing, of course. Most of the cases we see involve USPS as no doubt they have the largest volume and are particularly poor I am sure DHL are not immune.
  6. Documents being lost by USPS seems quite common. If it is lost lost then she needs to obtain another passport, might need to file a police report.
  7. There is a long list of issues, what surprised me was that Congo wife seemed to have got an immigrant visa without issue? It was a bad situation and Denver made it much worse.
  8. If you want to see what not to do I give you the first caller on Hacking yesterday. If they ask you if you are going to lie to them today, take that as a warning.
  9. CS/SB 1416, Dissolution of Marriage, removes permanent alimony as an option. The bill also adds the possibility of lump-sum payments, adds the burden of proof to the person seeking support to prove they need it, and sets up a process for ex-spouses who make alimony payments to seek modifications when they retire or conditions change. It will allow judges to reduce or terminate alimony, support or maintenance payments after considering a number of factors, such as: “The age and health” of the person who makes payments The customary retirement age of that person’s occupation “The economic impact” a reduction in alimony would have on the recipient of the payments The adultery of either spouse and any resulting economic impact The “motivation for retirement and likelihood of returning to work” for the person making the payments. The existence of "a supportive relationship" between the ex-spouse receiving payments and another, non-related party. The burden for the ex-spouse making payments to prove that a supportive relationship exists has been removed. The bill also removes tax consequences and sources of income such as "investments of any asset" from consideration by the court. https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/politics/2023/07/03/permanent-alimony-new-florida-law-change/70378477007/ I did not know there was a thing like permanent alimony.
  10. I could see it coming up at the interview, they could well be interested in if the Petitioner knows.
  11. TN visa is the obvious option. CR1 is a LOT longer than 7 months.

  15. I assume you had not been in the US your whole life otherwise why are you applying for a visa? I know that there used to be a lot of issues with fake birth certificates in Texas perhaps they are looking at that?
