  1. Spousal visa has many advantages, hopefully someone will be along to give you a comparison.
  2. I assume they chose the ones that were not seriously abused.
  3. Always interested to learn.
  4. Do you currently have physical and legal custody. If you have how long have you had it? I see in your history that you have been working in the US for your Embassy and prior to that a J1 Is your spouse a USC or LPR.
  5. This is something I look out for but have not come across anyone who obtained an invitation
  6. I think the timing is coincidental but certainly helps if you have to get out of Dodge.
  7. Actually they do not, well maybe better to say there are fewer schisms not none. I saw something that access to the VWP kicks in soon, end of November? And was contemplating what that could do. This is not 1947, 1968 etc etc. And as I have mentioned I do not see a good future. Now if I was an Israeli Palestinian I would not be too happy about the crazies taking over. Sunshine and Light does not seem a likely end. I am sure the Gulf States, Saudi etc are concerned, a difficult tightrope to walk. Egypt being a classic example. Just as likely to take them down. Quite a few Israeli Citizens have dual citizenships, quite a few have skill sets that would help migrate. Inevitably I look to what happens in the US, UK, Europe and it is not looking good. Somethings are sort of funny, like Universities and their Be Kind, Safe Spaces, Diversity and Inclusivity etc that collapse at the first push. Who could see that coming? I do know there are too many moving parts, too many variables. I am not a big fan of Alternative History but am quite aware that things we take for granted could have gone very different ways. There just seem multiple issues which even strong societies would have issues with and then you add weakness and it just gets more volatile.

So we are assuming you are still in the US when a decision is made, not sure how likely that is, but lets say you are here on your J1 at that point you just stay on your J1. Google will help, I do not not have any recommendations, I see the likes of https://www.wegreened.com/ mentioned.
  9. It appears Dani is a single Mother of 5 and in an open relationship, looking at the totality of the situation I doubt she has visited him in Australia.
  10. I don't Tweet but perhaps this sort of incident might push me to do so.
  11. There is precedent, Afghanistan calling. I would expect them to blow with the wind and go with whatever they think their base wants.d
  12. More than 14,000 asylum seekers were sent to San Diego. Local support systems were overwhelmed Cash-strapped NGOs and legal aid groups are jumping in to help migrants figure out next steps as California cut funding https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/oct/19/california-asylum-seekers-san-diego-budget-cuts Several non-profit organizations have set up at the Iris Avenue transit center to welcome the asylum seekers – people from west African countries, India, Turkey, Colombia, Venezuela, Russia, Uzbekistan, China and Vietnam. Elouhhab lived in Mexico for six years, where he drove for Uber and worked at a plastics factory. He left Mexico because it had become too dangerous, he said. He himself arrived at the transit center weeks ago and has stayed to help other migrants getting out of detention. “What I’m seeing is people who are middle class, upper middle class, have the resources to get here, have the resources for plane tickets and hotels, and are fleeing persecution in some cases, in other cases it’s economic migration. But by and large they are asking me like, how do I get a job? How do I get my work permit? And they are turning themselves into border patrol. This isn’t people who are trying to evade capture.” Legal migration routes to the US right now are “extremely limited”, Pinheiro explained. While US law in theory permits people to cross at a port of entry and apply for asylum, in practice applications are limited by the requirement migrants use the CBP One to apply and book an appointment. “You can probably count on two hands how many people speak Spanish, Haitian Creole or English, which are the three languages supported by the CBP One app,” Pinheiro said. “And unless you can make an appointment on the government app, you are turned away from the port of entry.” Migrants end up crossing the border elsewhere and being detained by border patrol at the detention sites at the border wall, she said Quite interesting, more so the source as this is not what they usually peddle.

Yes you can. not sure if you know but there are Lawyers who will guarantee success or refund you their fees. If it is rejected then nothing changes, you revert to your existing situation.
  14. Possible but high risk, I suppose we first need to know your risk tolerance.
  15. https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/news-releases/dhs-announces-family-reunification-parole-process-for-ecuador Certain nationals of Ecuador who are beneficiaries of an approved Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative may be eligible to be considered for parole under the new process. Qualifying beneficiaries must be outside the United States, meet all requirements, including screening and vetting and medical requirements, and must not have already received an immigrant visa.
  16. I just noticed and I have to work! Just wondered what other people indigenous persons are doing to celebrate.
  17. I thought this was interesting, the EU has many issues of course and this is not the one thing I thought would bring it down. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/sep/22/migration-eu-diplomat-josep-borrell-ukraine-china Migration could be “a dissolving force for the European Union” due to deep cultural differences between European countries and their long-term inability to reach a common policy, the EU’s most senior diplomat has said. Although Russia will try to fan the flames on migration inside Europe, Josep Borrell denied that the conflict in Ukraine was contributing to the crisis, which he described as a decades-old problem fuelled by wars and poverty in departure countries. This I certainly will agree with: In a wide-ranging interview with the Guardian reflecting on how the EU had been changed by the war and where the bloc fits in this new world order, he said European countries had been forced to wake from a siesta on defence spending, in which they had lived under the American nuclear umbrella. And this: At a subsequent lecture at the New York University Law School, he said the UN security council had been proved “completely useless in recent years due to its divisions” and called for an overhaul of political and financial institutions to revive a multilateralism that “is outdated and running out of steam”.
