  1. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/01/09/2023-00252/implementation-of-a-parole-process-for-cubans
  2. Begs the question why you are going K1, and not just Parole in. Then seek an EAD expedite.
  3. I would not like to say how to do it, there may be a special procedure just like U4U. Extending TPS by a few days may help a few but does not address the 100,000? who arrived after, or the 30,000 a month under the new Parole programme.
  4. So there is a process but no mention how you go about it, just a suggestion that it will be communicated, well that is how I read it. She also sets out the asylum process, but without commenting if Ukrainians will qualify, I can see how a few could, but not the majority. Unless they intend redefining how the words are interpreted.
  5. I am not aware of any restriction on applying more than once and hard pressed to remember any denials To be fair it is political, and that is where the issue lies.
  6. U4U is obvious, but likely to take longer now so no way of knowing how long she would be gone, and it gives her another 2 years. Being petitioned by her daughter I assume is out. Can you apply for HP inside the US? I did not think so. Asylum, now there have been people waiting 6 years plus but I get the impression they are letting those hang and concentrating on more recent applications. My question on this is how you would frame it, if you were from the occupied areas I can see that but not from Ukraine itself. Well unless you are a Putin supporter.
  7. There will be 100k or next next year, the only difference I know of is that your MIL got 12 months rather than 2 years under U4U Guesstimating processing times is difficult, the Venezuelan etc version kicked in and that is 30,000 per month but I assume many more than that applications. Busy times. I assume you MIL is not looking to immigrate and/or your spouse is not a USC.
  8. We have had quite a few I 601 Vaccine here, never heard of one being refused. Interesting that it seems the officer at the interview was the one who decided, did not realise that was how it was done.
  9. Cancun is nice at this time of year. I am never ceased to be amazed how the people who draft these programs never seem to consider the practicality of their regulations.
  10. I have been wondering how they would deal with this as it is my understanding you can not extend parole I do not see why she can not apply for U4U
  11. NY I missed where you were but think they do the same sort of thing for migrants Florida will be different but there is a large Cuban diaspora so this will be a common issue
  12. You have no financial obligation I would have thought MediCal would be the better option but as always individual circumstances vary
  13. The I 134 is unenforceable. My first thought is that it varies by State, somewhere like California may provide Medicaid.
  14. It is 2 years of Humanitarian Parole not of support. Most support programs apply to Refugees I suppose the expectation is many will apply for asylum, even if most will not qualify. I have not seen this officially commented on. The same of course applies to Ukrainians who are further along in this process.
  15. It is Adjustment of Status, and is like any other Family Adjustment needs a I 864 which is enforceable unlike the I 134. There is not a 10 year rule but that is all explained in the I 864.
  16. The Brit Awards have been met with a backlash after failing to recognise a single woman in the Best British Artist category. On Thursday afternoon, the nominees for the upcoming Brits – the second since organisers merged the Best British Male and Best British Female awards into a single Best British Artist prize – were announced. However, music fans were quick to voice their disappointment when it emerged that no female musicians were in the running for the Best British Artist prize. Instead, Central Cee, Fred Again.., George Ezra, Harry Styles and Stormzy are all in the running for the award, which was won by Adele last year, in its inaugural year. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/brit-awards-fail-to-recognise-any-women-in-british-artist-category_uk_63c03a96e4b0d6f0ba027f2e?g06 Ohh dear.....
  17. Does it matter? They have a strong case and a bitter ex makes no difference.
  18. Hopefully they have a very strong case. Any other red flags?
  19. EAD seems to be coming through quicker recently, it had been around the 8 month mark but I have also seen it over a year. If working was a major issue then K1 would not be your choice.
