https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/22/finland-to-close-all-but-one-russia-crossing-point-to-stop-asylum-seekers Finland has said it will close all but one crossing point on its border with Russia in an effort to halt a flow of asylum seekers to the Nordic nation, as Estonia accused Moscow of mounting “a hybrid attack operation” on Europe’s eastern border. The announcement on Wednesday came after weeks of tension on the 830-mile (1,330km) border across which Helsinki accuses Moscow of guiding refugees and migrants in an apparent act of revenge for the Nordic nation’s cooperation with the US. From midnight on Friday, said the Finnish prime minister, Petteri Orpo, the only open border crossing of Finland’s eight stations would be its northernmost at Raja-Jooseppi.

Getting GC as insurance question

She can go back on the next plane but there is no such thing as a maintenance visit. Is she Ukrainian, does she qualify for U4U. IR5 is going to take say 18 months. -
"Lydia Gribbin, 28, appeared in court on Friday November 3 alongside four other activists charged with aggravated trespass - a charge that she denies alongside Hannah Taylor, 23; Hanan Ameur, 22; Noah Crane, 18; and Poppy Bliss, 19. Gribbin, however, sparked a particularly strong reaction from district Judge Michael Snow at Westminster Magistrate's Court after asking if the trial could be held at the end of February - so she could travel to India unimpeded." https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/judge-slams-just-stop-oil-activist-after-she-asked-for-delay-in-trial-so-she-could-jet-off-to-india-as-protester-28-is-charged-alongside-four-others-for-storming-west-end-performance-of-les-miserables/ar-AA1jmnu6

Possible deportation?
Boiler replied to Skip2019's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I do have any strong views on the subject, I can see that it is cleaner to file a fresh case. -

People who filed nearly 9 years ago are now getting to the front of the line. You have yet to file. There is no way of being precise as to what the wait time will be looking forward, too many variables some of which can only be guessed at, I tend to double and round down the past time which seems to be there or thereabouts. Just a guide. https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/news-releases/uscis-establishes-family-reunification-parole-process-for-ecuador This was announced recently. Thank you for updating the thread about the weird Canadian situation. -
This starts with the police actually doing their job unusually, and then we go to a spokesman for Just Stop Oil. Now you would think they would choose someone who is a bit less obviously crazy and yet this is the best they could do for national TV which make you wonder what the rest are like. I have said it before it has become a religion so you are either a true believer or need to be sent to the stocks.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/10/sport/brittney-griner-dallas-airport-harassment/index.html Brittney Griner, the WNBA star who was freed from Russia late last year after being wrongfully detained, was harassed Saturday by a man described as a social media “provocateur” at a Dallas airport. A source familiar with the incident told CNN that around 9:30 am CT, Griner was at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport traveling with Phoenix Mercury teammates on their way to a game. Griner was confronted by the man who was yelling at her about “the Merchant of Death.” The confrontation got so heated that the man was tackled, and law enforcement was involved, according to the source. CNN has reached out to local law enforcement and the DFW airport about the incident. “The health and well-being of our players and staff are our top priority and we will always take every step within our power to protect player safety,” the statement said. “No one, regardless of identity, should ever fear for their safety. We will be coordinating with the WNBA on next steps,” it continued. Griner’s teammate, Brianna Turner, posted to Twitter on Saturday, saying, “Player safety while traveling should be at the forefront. People following with cameras saying wild remarks is never acceptable. Excessive harassment. Our team nervously huddled in a corner unsure how to move about. We demand better.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think I would recognise Bob, but any other member of the WNBA? I thought they would be delighted somebody recognised them.

I had not really thought about this other than being told when checking out at a Supermarket now is the time to enter your Coupons, what Coupons? I would assume they were overcharging up front to pay for the rebate so look for something else.
